1990's Movie Rankdown

It waas released in 1989. There are some other Disney animations from the 90's included however, such as Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

If you're thinking of the movie with Paddy Considine, that was from 2004. It's the only Dead Man's Shoes movie I'm aware of.

Unless you were thinking of the Jim Jaramusch western, Dead Man, with Johnny Depp, or the movie about death row inmate, Dead Man Walking, with Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon (both of whom are incredible in that), both those are there (and if you've not seen them bother are well worth checking out).

 

Submitted my list last night.

So many classic films…..confident my top ten will be in the final countdown(In some sort of permutation)

 

Such strength and depth, countless Fantastic Films, think my Top 40 would change every week, let a lone my top 10. Going to be very interesting such is the quality!!!!!

A good number of films are not in my Top 10 that on another time would be, i have so many favourites from each decade, and it does not get much better than the 90s!!!

I have a list now, this was one the hardest lists i have compiled.



one of my faves was Soldier Blue ,,,,,,and it was in the * 70s ( and a * film it was ) ,, 50 years ago when this film was brought to the Cinema. I couldnt put it in ,,,,, BAH BAH

 

Mainly my fault, but shocked that A Perfect World ain't been voted, defo a top 10 for me as well.

There are 3 or 4 that have done 50+, but not complaining. With so many great movies to choose from, it's impossible to fit them all in.

Frantically typing my top 15 to Taz!!

 

That was hard going. I look at the list again and wonder, how I didn't include some films like Terminator 2 for example. My list can change from day to day.

 

Think there are a few that may kick themselves for overlooking that one, lol But it's simply impossible to squeeze so many absolute classics in. And more than a few people have said the exact same thing about it changing... and tbh I'm one of them as well, lol.

 

* * it , forgot that and actually a load , ended up going through alphabetically ended up with 40 odd rounded it down to 30 them split them into 3 piles 1-10 , 11-20 , 21-30 then tried to get them in order

 

Going by the reactions taz, this could be the best yet lol.

 

Just to update everyone, I thought my laptop problems were fixed however they resurfaced earlier today and trying to get this fixed. With a bit of luck will tr yto get the Countdown started tomorrow evening.

As such, if anyone who hasn't contributed still wants to will allow any additional submissions til say lunchtime tomorrow. I will update at that point how things are looking. Once again, I apologize for the delay but given my situation it's beyond my control just at the moment.

 

Update: The reveal will be 9pm Sunday.

After this message I won't be able to comment on here until the weekend (apart from ipad), and not even sure when will have it back til Saturday at the earliest, so being on the safe side and allowing time for me to do the stuff that I do for the reveal, setting this to begin at 9pm Sunday evening.

Which means there is an extension for anyone who might want to be a late contributor to this can do so until midnight Saturday.

Once again, I am really sorry to everyone for the delay. This was not my intent when this all got underway, and I am grateful and appreciate all of your patience while this is going on.

But will tag all those who have contributed so far, so they know what's going on...

These are the movies that got a '9' or a '10' vote but there was not enough support out of the top 100 which meant that they were squeezed out of the Top 10... And again proving how critical all those rankings that are beyond the Top 10 can be in being tie breakers in these tight calls. Apart from these Honourable Mentions, everyone's Top 10 picks all at least made the cut.
