We are crying out for a dynamic LW player, someone that can also play the LWB role too.

 

Massive downsize operation about to kick in I’d imagine in the next couple weeks.

 

If we sell Eddie for 30m - how much of that will go back into signing the required players - thats my biggest fear.

We could sign another 3.5m player lenny doesnt trust in the big games to replace eddie

 

Ralston told he has no future here, is he away yet? Boli, well...

So is this our defensive situation at the club right now?? Or are any of those young ones away out on loan or that?

 

We need a mix of ready-made players who can walk into the first team and back-up players.

We need first-team additions for:

We need back-up/cover for:
CB
ST
GK
CM (still feel we need a destroyer who can provide more protection)

 

Weakest the squad has looked in a long time.

Literally no competition for Taylor, Forrest or Elyounoussi at the moment.

If Ajer is to be sold we’ve only got Jullien, Bitton and Elhamed as our CB options.

Eddie injured. Klimala not trusted to play. Ajeti not fit enough to play. Griff not available for selection.

Ntcham and Rogic look like they’ll be offski.

A lot of work needing to be done.

 

I'm still really struggling to come to terms with the fact we have gone from the highs of a treble treble to a squad potentially falling apart at the seams.

The feeling around the place is that of a club that has been relegated or something. Utterly bizarre.

Last night was a kick in the stones and I'm raging with Lenny for it and all that * after it. Really really hope there isn't any more sinister nonsense going on or rifts, especially when we need a massive team spirit to get back going again.

We need a good strong squad, sick of being left wanting in positions so often.

 

O'Connor is away to Tranmere is he not? @Dublin Celt should be able to confirm.

Ralston's still at the club but wouldn't be surprised if he is off over the next month. Got another year from what I remember.

Looking at the current alternatives, if Ajer is one of the "want aways" then he is possibly an asset in this situation, even if not ideal. From memory he has also had to cover LB and possibly CB when Rodgers was here and at least has a season of SPL under his belt even if it was with St Johnstone. Strange days.

In all honesty I'm more worried about upfront.

 

Playing Moi left wing is bizzare. Like Christie playing on the right.

But it highlights that players can just go through the motions and still get a start the next week.

Monumental few weeks coming up. As long as the team continue to grind results out and keep the show on the road, new blood will come in and sort this out hopefully.

 

A number of positions are needing desperate attention but we all knew that before last nights result.

Assuming that Ajer, Ntcham, Rogic are off.

In my opinion we need-

2x CB’s- Shane Duffy and Nelsson from Copenhagen would be fantastic. Other options Benkovic or Mbe Soh


LB/LWB- Bakkar (on loan from PSG) /Douglas or if there is any left footed Frimpong’s going we need them in

CDM- James McCarthy depending on fee. Soro deserves an run in the team to show what he can do though.

Those player sales might compensate for our failure to qualify for the Champions League again, and allow us to keep Édouard for another season.

 

That's a start, but if Ntcham and Rogić leave, they need to be replaced too - and with high-quality signings.

 

All very speculative stuff but say if Ajer and Ntcham go for £35m (ish) Rogic for £4m and we get Dembele sell on of £4-5m. Then adding I Kouassi that’s £45m in. We have spent £12.5m(ish) on Barkas, Ajeti and Turnbull.

We need a first team ready CB and someone else to come in and compete for that position. First team ready needs to be physically imposing. Duffy would be good and another with high potential would also help.

We badly need a left back/left wing back player, as when all fit and in form this is probably the weakest position in our squad. Not sure who though.

Given Griff is out the picture and Klimala isn’t trusted by our manager and Eddy’s future uncertain a CF is required preferably someone who can play as an out and out goalscorer and preferably with a decent presence about them. Not sure who this could be and will really depend on if Eddy stays or goes.

Another attacking option who can play wide in a direct fashion would be great. Alberth Elis would be ideal, he’s quick, good in the air, scores goals and could add a different option to our team.

If Ntcham goes and Soro is not ready to start we could do with a proper CM who bosses games. He has been out for a period of time but Amarety at Leicester looks the type we could do with. This could be even more important if Christie is for the off too. We really need an imposing CM who has good mobility and can read the defensive side of the game.

So 5 players.

 

All this talk of another CB and a player to replace Brown, or talk of another striker etc.

But after watching that today what is the biggest requirement is a left wing back similar to Frimpong.

I did say weeks ago that Frimpong on the right and Forrest on the Left would be our two best wing backs.

But a left sided Frimpong, should we need to make it our biggest outlay is the best peice of the jig saw required.

Off course a centre back is essessial but a LWB is the weakest area of the park.
