Centre-back, Left-back and Left-mid in that order of priority.

    Celtic still need

a striker, 2 centre backs, left winger and left back.

we will most likely lose Ajer, try and punt Bolingoli and loan Bayo

Not sure a striker is needed personally, I'd sell Bayo.

I'd like 2 CBs, one who has a good bit of top level experience and I'd take a punt on John Souttar, still young but has looked good for Hearts, I'd also try for Hickey and get rid of Boli.

I would like Paddy Roberts if we could, but that's more to do with how I loved watching him in the Hoops, not actually sure we need a winger in reality.

Yeah think we need 2 cb in, would like someone on the left too incase that guy from Southampton (not even going to try spell his name) gets injured and Micky seems to be that way incline I'd like cover there, think frimpong could play further up on the right with Elhamed behind if forrest is out but if both Elhamed and forrest are out were very light on that side too

Most people happy with a GK and Elyounoussi at the start of this thread..

If we retain everyone we only really need to add a CB and LB/LWB now.

Think we will bring in a ST and maybe a winger too.

If we do that and retain our best players whilst extending Ajer, Christie and Edouard contracts then it's dreamland.

I know we’ve pretty much a packed central mid area with players but I wouldn’t mind a big unit of a CDM.

We’ve got the skipper, he’s got all the heart and bite in the world and still in excellent condition. We have others that are sturdy enough but there’s times I’d like to see a big 6+ built like a tank destroyer in there that has a decent touch.

There’s games where ye think, right, if we had someone in there the opposition would be bricking it to even put a foot in wae - we might change the dynamic of those awkward games.

Alot of pundits down the years talk about cycles in football, about successful teams being able to maintain hunger etc.

The great MUFC teams under AF went through 4 or 5 of these cycles. And ourselves have went 4 or 5 of them in going for the 10.

Brown has been great maintaining that hunger in the same way Keane was for man utd.

But we are slightly different because our finances would be on alot smaller scale and mistakes in the market are alot more critical.

For example MON and i love the man, didnt have a grip on this. And eventually that team, the greatest celtic team in my life time grew older together and broke off bit by bit without zero returns to reinvest.

We have got better at this and manage this alot better than that era. But got me thinking were are the squad in the hunger and contractial state currently.

For example Ntcham wont be signing another contract IMO. Rogic would be the same.

So we are best cashing in on these players while value is higher.

Will Ajer and Eddie sign another contract to maintain the high value we can recieve for them?

Noise from the Christie camp worrying he could be shifted closer to the door?

I cant see Griff getting another contract and Boyo isnt good enough, so we might need two strikers in.

    Interesting times...

Boli, Ralston, Benyu, Rogic, Ntcham, Shved, Aitchison, Okoflex and Bayo moved on

I cant see us offer Bitton or Griff new contracts but we are best keeping that experience in the squad going for the 10.

Replace them with CB, LB, AM and striker.

That way i can see us spending 20m in the window but bringing 20m in!!

Eddie, Ajer and Christie on new contracts and its a dream window.

Zero chance of Rogic and Ntcham both getting moved.

    Benyu left last window.

Edit: or was Benyu just a loan? And he's still on the books lol

Im not sure either on Benyu, another strange Rat signing.

While i agree with Rogic and Ntcham both not going this window, they are deffo both high value players we can do without, if we need to raise money to buy.

Christie i hope signs new contract and can be a mainstay in the team for years like Forrest and McGregor

I agree with this, there was a big tank of a boy called Frank Boya, who plays in Belgium, is 23 Cameroon International and was out of contract but signed for another Belgian team. He would have been a good fit.

    Thats my point.

If we arent planning on offer griff new contract then we would prob only get buttons for him next season with a year left.

But saying that, i cant see too many in the queue to sign leigh if we made him available.

Some great points in the above, I do think following the last summer window of Rodgers was a telling time for the club in terms of transfers. The positive was we got Eddy but then missed out on all our other targets and ended up getting loans or poor quality. On the sales side we should have cashed in on Boyata but had no replacement lined up and lost Dembele for less than we possibly could have got.

I can’t see Lawwell letting that happen again so can see Eddy, Ajer, Christie and Ntcham being vulnerable to big offers if they don’t sign new deals. Out of the 4 Eddy is the one I really wouldn’t want to lose, I think the others can all be replaced with some decent scouting.

Christie was exceptional the first half of last year but hasn’t quite recaptured that form just yet. I would rather he stayed but for the right offer he may go. Ajer is the same.

Ntcham and Rogic are different in that neither are currently in the starting 11 but I do think if a good offer came in for either they would be sold.

Griff and Bitton both got new deals not that awful long ago. Bitton was a bit of a strange one to me as he hardly plays but was given a 3.5 year deal.

The likes of Boli, Bayo and Shved need to be sold or at least loaned out if possible as none are the required quality or getting a chance. Benyu and Ralston should be released. Young prospects unlikely to get minutes should be loaned to SPL or English League 1 or above teams for game time.

I think Ajer will go, it feels like Tierney last year, it seems like a case of when rather than if. If he goes, say Ntcham goes and Dembele leaves Lyon, you are looking at not far short of £40m in.

We would then need a starting CB, a young back up CB, LB to compete with Taylor, an attacker who could cover either wing and a Striker. If I was being greedy as mentioned in a previous post I would like a destroyer of a CM, who could go box to box to compete with McGregor and Brown.

Hopefully we can get a couple more players in soon.

Approaching the qualifiers and our squad is weaker now than it was last season.

I'd say the squad is stronger than the start of the qualifiers. Our defence is more settled, a quality keeper in, Moi on the left and our strike force is stronger.

Aye, but I mean in general when compared to last season.

We’ve lost a couple of squad players and Forster. Only signed Ely, who was already here, and a replacement for Forster.

Desperately need a CB, hopefully a big commanding one, also need a LW given Elyounoussi had injury issues last season.

Yes, squad players lost not first team regulars and bear in mind, first teamers have mainly progressed-Jerry, CJ and Taylor have all improved significantly. Nicham also.
For me, right now, our squad may be smaller but is stronger than this time last season.
