ok to answer the question, if I was Peter Lawwell, I would baulk at paying that amount of money. So In my fantasy role of Celtic CEO i would not sanction paying 12 million for Roberts. I Would offer 6 with add on's.
I suspect we will pay similar rates to that paid for Sinclair, maybe 3 more players in that category.

 

I wouldn't pay more than 8 million, and that's if we had 15 million to play with.

And even 8 million would be breaking our transfer record.

 

8 million max here too for Roberts, not a penny more.If not, rotate to developing Forrest a bit more. Try and get him to lift his heid from his shooders a bit more and see where he is going

The only thing I would have against paying such a high fee is if he gets sold two years later which I would think is likely.

Otherwise he is worth spending £12 million on, at his age and talent we shouldn't really be in the running but I do think there is a small possibility but that would mean using most of our budget on him.

 

I really don't think we need to worry too much on whether to pay £8-12m, City will dictate his next move which will probably be a 'step up' loan deal with another EPL team.

We need to prepare for life without the wee man I'm afraid.

I think he means it could ruin his career. All it takes is a bad injury for him which he never fully recovers from and the £12 million is down the drain.

I said at first that I would pay it but realistically, £12 million on one player is mental for us.
