Time for him to move on in the summer. I hope we scout the J-League more. Pretty nuts how much value we brought in from there

Aye a bit up and down today, some good stuff and some poor stuff. Far more willing to allow him that while he's putting in the effort for the full 90.

His shooting has become so erratic. One decent shot in the first half that tested Smith, but otherwise the ball could've landed in Paisley when he hit it.

I think he was a mixed bag but involved in alot of the good stuff we did. Great ball to Maeda at the end

That was a great swerving shot he had that Smith made a great save from too.

We've improved as a team by moving on Kyogo. I think we would do likewise selling Hatate. So much room to upgrade on him in the summer

    Surprised at comments.

Didn't watch live but when I did watch later, thought he was good and involved in a lot of the key moments.

I wonder if anyone else has had this notion but it was again triggered yesterday by his hesitancy to play a couple of long balls over the top when they appeared on yesterday, and instead opting for the safe ball retention option, basically opposite of what you would expect from Hatate.

I do wonder if as part of Rodgers and staff trying to bring Hatate on as a more rounded player, that some of his natural attacking instincts have been dampened? I notice it quite a bit in games where a risky pass is on and he looks like playing it then checks out. See that last spell bs St Mirren was peak Hatate absolutely breezing past players, through balls, accurate pick outs with great vision, getting shots off around the box. It was almost as if the coaching manual had been tossed out the window and he was playing purely on instincts.

Don’t get me wrong he has got an engine he never had previously and that’s kudos to the coaching team and him for improving that side. I just wonder in an effort to improve Hatate as an all round player which does seem like on paper the right thing to do, has it caused him to question his instincts at time.

Yesterday, things didn’t come off for him particularly early in the game but was unlucky that effort didn’t find the net from distance and he had a couple of very good pick outs.

I have seen a lot of people saying we can improve on Hatate and we probably can with good scouting but it will need to be a very creative player we bring in as the ability he has in that regard is normally a catalyst for our better performances.

If he does move on and we are looking to play Maeda as our main striker, I would like to see us go more 4-2-3-1 next season with Engels and Bernardo able to compete with McGregor and another for the deep two midfield positions and McCowan backing up and new number 10.

If we keep Johnston and have Tierney coming in we will have attacking full backs, so having both full backs going forward we need more midfield cover for the centre backs.

I also think a 10 would help us get the ball forward to someone who can take it in as Maeda’s negative as a centre forward is he isn’t great taking the ball in and a proper attacking midfielder good on the ball playing high would negate that whilst Maeda stretches the backline to create space for the 10.
