I'd be happy if he signed and was happy to play back up. I'd expect he would get a lot more gametime than Ralston - if we get into champions league groups I think 20 games a season wouldn't be unreasonable to expect.

Realistically he isn't getting the biggest games if KT is fit, however realistically KT isn't going to be fit for all the big games!

I'd imagine whoever is back up to KT to play a lot. I think he will be fairly well protected. In fact I'd expect the back up to come on most games they didn't start.

    Completely agree.

Whoever is number two left back after the summer window is going to have to be decent as they'll be called on a lot.

They'd probably need to be of Taylor's quality.

Shame that Taylor is threatened with Tierney's arrival and is now looking to move on. He'd have been a perfect deputy, but it is a demotion. He's been lucky we haven't scouted properly in that area for years.

As things stand, LB is something that the club does have options at in terms of back up, with Anderson and Frame both there - both of which have been vrafting pretty good reps so far and are 20 and 18 respectively, and not to forget Montgomery also, who admittedly has had his injury concerns of his own, but he is also only 22 himself, and the club haven't written him off or released him etc for a reason.

Certainly, none of which are ready to be considered as first choice, and not saying that the club could look to strengthen in that position as a back up to KT, but there are a few options there with another year of football under their belt, so will be curious to see what the club and BR are thinking in terms of a secondary LB for next season.

If Schlupp does well, we'll maybe look to extend his stay..

Get Anderson a loan in Scotland in the top division and send Frame to Austria in his place.

Steady player but in all honesty, happy for him to move on. Steady, but to many times he has looked the weak link. Tierney is undoubtedly an upgrade, just need another decent lb too, maybe schlupp, maybe not - who knows

Not really fair... Every player that's come in there's a section of the fans immediately said it was an upgrade and he'd thankfully be benched, but he saw them all off. Not even close, either...

But with Tierney it's different, because he's adored by the fanbase. After years of it, going against a player who is better and has all the fans behind him. Not too difficult to see why he'd either want the money or to move on to be 1st choice elsewhere

Not really, he’d be very aware that Tierney usual amount of games being available leaves plenty of games for him.

Before then we signed Bernabei for £4m or so, he easily seen off that competition but at the time we all assumed with that outlay he was coming into the first team. * going back to Boli the same.

Tierney’s clearly better and if fit will play, but not the first competition for him and one that leaves plenty of games for him.

Suffered from a lack of competition and feel he’* his limit. More than happy having him here as competition/option with tierney next season, he gets a raw deal a fair bit but for Scotland, he’s more than good enough.

Should Taylor be picking up back post and Kane, maybe...
Was he unlucky with first goal, maybe.
I do know we have lost a lot of goals on his side due to poor marking or being physically out muscled.
Both goals tonight, left side of our defence.

Looking forward to KT return that's for sure.

Tbf Johnston had been marking him up until that corner..

We decided not to bother for that one..

First goal was bad luck with the bounce. To blame him is a bit harsh. Plus a world class strik.

Leaving Harry kane, one of Europe's top most clinical strikers wide open the entire cross.. that you can blame him on.

He's absolutely fine until you need to play him and a game like this, think it's the right time for him to go..

Mostly absolutely fine domestically, in Europe we've needed much much better for seasons..

Tbf tho, both fullbacks had that absolute life squeezed out of them tonight, given the ball with zero options.

He's evidently the weak link at that level. I don't think that's debatable regardless of how you look at the 1st goal.

It did look like he was a yard or two behind the rest of the defence at that point.

I don't think they get as much joy with Tierney there. In fact I know they wouldn't have. Schlupp even made a difference.
