I think the dislike speaks volumes personally…

Lawwell when he first came was excellent. We needed to cut down the budget and he did so while still being a good side.

Even Lennons first stint I felt we were run very well. Even though he blew the chance of killing the Huns a few years earlier and letting them win 3 on the bounce.

Lawwell is someone who is stuck in his ways and not keeping up to date with the times. We needed a fresh voice years now.

He’s someone who’d actually do a great job for the Huns. I don’t think he’s good when we’re ahead and have the power to go to the next level.

Meh as for the sales we’re not doing anything majorly different from other teams in a similar position to our own. Take Brugge for example who we play midweek. I mean out of the high profile sales is there anyone you felt we won a watch selling them for such a sum?

We’re signing players for more money now but we’re also selling them for way more. Football inflation has been mental over the last ten years. In Rodgers time here we’ve sold 2 players for 25m and got into the CL automatically each year. When I take that into consideration I don’t think you can say he’s been backed massively signing the above players.

I think our ideas of where Celtic should be are just different. Your picture of Ronnie Delia for example. A good man but I think we should be aiming with managers with a higher profile. You probably felt he done a great job.

I suppose that’s one of the reasons we love football. People have different beliefs and ideas on things.

My picture is Ronny deila cos he’s a funny guy and it’s a bit of a joke! Not cos he’s anything other than that. But as you say people have different ideas on things….even as simple as why a picture is so :86:

rest I kinda agree with you on as you’re starting to at least mention the success lawell has seen under his tenure.

Brugge play in a much better league than ours so I’d say we’ve done well to sell the players we have for the fees. It’s not just the sales though it’s the purchases, apart from maybe 2-3 windows most players have developed well we’ve bought.

you’re correct on football inflation being mad. But it’s also a testament to the board we’ve managed to stay afloat unlike those across the city! They’re a perfect example of what can happen if you don’t live within your means.

you’re right about the position of strength stuff and not progressing after that. Hopefully this season will change that in Europe mate

I’ll leave you with this. In the last 10 years there’s 3 seasons I’ve really liked what I’ve saw on and off the park.(some seasons liked what I have saw on just not off the park btw)

    1. Was the invincible year. Majorly down to Rodgers imo. Shout out to DD if you believe the story at Hampden from the semi. Rodgers should never done what he done but things like the McGinn situation, playing Bitton at CB during crucial CL qualifying campaigns did not help matters. It was clear Lawwell was driving him mad.

    2. Angels first year. We were in a real hole but made some fantastic signings, played unbelievable football and won a league against a solid Hun team imo. That season Lawwell * off for the year.

    3. This year. Recruitment been much better, seeing progress in Europe. Mark Lawwell * off.

You’re wasting your time trying to convince me the Lawwells shouldn’t get a hard time.
Like I’ve said in previous posts it’s time for a new voice. That new voice should have been years ago imo. After Ronnie. It was clear imo he’s not the man to take us forward when we’re in a position of strength. Had we off * the league last year which at one point it looked very possible it would have turned very ugly for him.

In the last 10 years there’s 1 season I haven’t liked, take the good with the bad and the success is even sweeter. Although we all want it we can’t win every single game we play.
Not trying to convince you the lawells shouldn’t get a hard time…my original question was have we experienced some of the most success ever under Peter lawell. The answer was yes.

to me personally that shows some level of unnecessary hate. But you are your own person and can hate as you please bud :shamrock: as long as we keeping winning those doubles, trebles and titles I’m happy

Genuinely think this could be a PL burner account :56:

Europe is a much better barometer to judge Petesy rather then domestically. He’s competed with a Huns board who couldn’t run a * up in a brewery.

Our ambition should be a lot higher than just being the best in Scotland in recent years. Please * this year is the start of being back to where we belong.

Mate, it's been 50 years since we seriously competed in Europe on a regular basis. If that's what you mean by being back to where we belong then fair enough.

Qualifying for CL and not just making up the numbers. Getting a few points on the board.
