I love that this comment is edited and still is ‘what about you are *?’

criticising a second language speaker who I have no right to cos a couldn’t do it in Swedish. But I’ll laugh a bit still

Brendan Rodgers has addressed THAT photo with Kieran Tierney amid talk of a potential reunion at Celtic.

The Northern Irishman was spotted with the Scotland international at the Celtic FC Foundation's London Gala event last week.

The pair were photographed deep in conversation, as the current manager of the Scottish Premiership champions caught up with his former player.

Asked about it during today's press conference, Rodgers played down its significance.

"It was great to see him," Rodgers said. "I've always been in contact with Kieran, when we were both down there.

"Obviously, he's been out injured so it was a nice touch by the club to invite him.

"He was a great player for this club and it's unfortunate how it's went for him at Arsenal with his injuries and other stuff.

"It doesn't take much now to get tongues wagging."

Rodgers worked with Tierney between his time at the club between 2016 and early 2019.

Tierney's time at Arsenal started well, but the 27-year-old's fallen way down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta for variety of reasons.

He spent last season on loan at La Liga side Real Sociedad, but is currently on the sidelines again at The Emirates

Feels like CCV is always injured when we’re playing in the champions league, i know that isn’t the case but he must have missed around 50% of our games.

Better player left for arsenal than the one that is supposedly coming back is my view on it think injuries no game time and having to be a square peg in a round hole for that * Clarke has regressed him as a footballer

Before the summer I worked out he's missed about 75 days per season since moving to Arsenal whereas CCV had missed about 45 games person season since coming to us (Kyogo similar). At Arsenal, he played 22.75 league games per season (more inc. cup games). However, he's since then had another serious injury.

It would need to be at a price that was reasonable and on the understanding that we save him for the important games. Throwing him on for Motherwell at home week-in-week-out would be a mistake.

45 games per season, that’s more or less the whole season, no where near as many games as that even last season

Think he meant CCV was out for 45 days. Pretty sure Tierney misses about 100 days per season every season.

I meant 45 days, yeah. Tierney misses on average 75 days, CCV 45 and Kyogo around 45 days.

It's correct as of the end of last season.

He missed 393 days in his five seasons at Arsenal, which is 78.6 days per calendar year on average.

His bad injury over the summer will skew that upwards by a fair amount, but I cba to work it out exactly. Games missed is probably a better indicator but again cba to work it out as not all the stats are there.

Injury records, with the caveat of its transfermarkt stats so a general guide not gospel truth

That's a great way to see the stats. Is his toe injury from start of this season missing or is it just masked by his hammy injury , as looks to be same period, I think.

General guideline that, because after the knee surgery into last season I know we rushed him back then he got injured again, and he came back in and out 1/2 games again then injured before we realised make sure he’s fully fit, no knocks before bringing him back. That has CCV missing 9 games last year between us and USA. He played 31 games all in last season. Between us and America, it’s not 40 games a season.

KT’s being an arsenal player is probably more accurate. Transfermarkt stats can be like that. Not gospel but generally ok

According to the link I posted he's averaged 109.5 days out per year over the last 6 years with last season being the most days injured. That stat only goes one way.

Years before it's 20/30 per year but no point looking at pre-injury stats.

That'll be the 4 months he's been out for so far that's pushing it up. I'd tend to agree that having a big injury like that doesn't bode well for future fitness. Regardless, I think his injuries mean he very likely returns to us at some point. Our board will 100% offer him a contract as long as he can put one foot in front of the other.

We should be going nowhere near him. The three hamstring injuries in quick succession are a major red flag in my opinion. Usually when a player gets that type of injury regularly, it’s a sign of things to come.

Or it's a sign something needs changed, like James forrest. He was out every other month until ronny stepped in and changed stuff. Fixed.

Same with Arjen Robben, went to Bayern and they sorted him.

Robben and Forrest weren’t players who had hamstring issues. They did have plenty injury troubles but not specifically hamstring. Examples the other way would be Fernando Torres, Michael Owen, Coutinho who all had issues with their hamstring and never really fully recovered. I wouldn’t be gambling on him.

My memory serves forrests hamstring went every other month and ronney sent him to a specialist, moved his house so his travel was less allowing his leg not to tighten up etc to avoid hamstring issues.

Edit.btransfermarket calls it "thigh problem" and he was out over 500 days with it until ronny sorted it.

Personally I hope he doesn’t come back as I always want remember him as a club icon at his peak, if he comes back he will miss a large percentage of games due to his injury problems, always best to remember people at their best.
