A majestic display of "total football" saw Celtic demolish Livingston at Almondvale on Saturday. In a five star performance, Celtic's youngsters played a pivotal part in what was by far the best performance under the reign of Gordon Strachan.
The Celtic starting eleven, which included only two players from Seville in 2003 started the game in superb fashion as Celtic dominated proceedings right from the off. The impressive Shunsuke Nakamura was first to threaten Roddy McKenzie in the home goal. The Japanese playmaker fired in a fierce 25-yard shot which Livi 'keeper Roddy McKenzie managed to beat away well.
McKenzie then had to use an outstretched foot to stop a low shot from the in form Celtic striker Craig Beattie, who was keeping John Hartson on the bench. Full-back Paul Telfer was next to have an effort as he warmed McKenzie's hands with an impressive shot from distance.
Nakamura and Stilian Petrov then saw powerful strikes flash just wide of the target as Celtic...

Celtic won a vital three points with a battling display at home to ICT. On a day which seen Celtic fall behind for the second time in a week, the players shown great spirit to turn around the deficit in an inspirational sixteen minute spell.
Celtic started the game well as McManus and Maloney both went close early on as Celtic pressed forward. Beattie who retained his place in the team following the CIS Cup win in midweek also got behind the visitors' defence only to see his low strike deflected behind by the feet of the goalkeeper Brown. The Scotland striker headed down a Paul Telfer cross, but Brown did brilliantly to keep his effort out. Beattie again should have got on the score sheet when he was found unmarked in the box. However, he only managed to strike another effort straight at the goalkeeper.
Chris Sutton who started his second game in four days also went close to opening the scoring as Nakamura planted a cross on to his head but the inspired Brown kept the effort...

Celtic moved into second place in the table with an important victory at Easter Road. The staduim was packed and expectations were high following recent wins at both Celtic Park and Ibrox. However Celtic's first attack on 5 minutes brought about a goal to silence the crowd. Hibs gave Shunsuke Nakamura far to much time on the the ball and he superbly found Petrov inside the Hibs box and the Bulgarian scored what proved to be the winning goal by sliding the ball under Malkowski in the Hibs goal.
Celtic were comfortably in control of the opening stages and almost doubled their lead after 25 minutes following a misjudgement by Hibs defender Murphy. Nakamura beared down on goal but his shot lacked the pace required to seriously trouble the goalkeeper.
For Hartson, it transpired to be one of those unaffective afternoons as though some of the big striker’s work outside of the box was decent enough, he was poor in the 18 yard box. His fortunes in front of goal were typified when he...

Celtic comfortably beat Aberdeen 2-0 on an emotional day at Celtic Park on Saturday. Expectation was high on a day that say a rousing minute of applause prior to kick-off proving a fitting way to mark the 20th anniversary of the great man’s passing.
Celtic broke the deadlock after only 13 minutes with a goal that brought back memories of the superb football that Celtic played under Stein. A beautiful ball by Balde was expertly controlled on the chest of Hartson into Zurawski's path. Fine interplay between the forwards saw Zurawski leashing a rocket of an angled right-foot shot that fizzed into the roof of the net from a distance of around 20 yards.
The goal was the least that Celtic deserved at this stage after Hartson was within inches of getting a telling head to Thompson's trademark free-kick in the sixth minute who was returning from suspension.
The first half was comfortable for Celtic, if not spectacular and the only effort of note in the remainder of the first half...
