WW2 stats?

Do we include our goals scored/conceded from this period? The reason I ask is cos they * across the city are trying to include their title wins (7, taking them to 61) during that period now, saying that if we can include our goals, they can include the titles? I really hope they're at the wind up. Our goals shouldn't count and their titles definitely shouldn't. Either way... Use could have 10 stars on your top and it still wouldn't better our 1. :bbpd:

 

Between 1939 and 1946 normal competitive football was suspended in Scotland. Many footballers signed up to fight in the war and as a result many teams were depleted, and fielded guest players instead. The Scottish Football league and Scottish Cup were suspended and in their place regional league competitions were set up. Appearances in these tournaments do not count in players' official records.

Who gives a * what they do? They're clearly desperate and clinging to any flotsam they can find whether it's Pacific 365 or titles from the war (they'll need something to boost the figures when actual title get stripped).

No competitive football during that time. Won't matter much anyway. Their history is going to be just that soon enough.

That we include the goals/appearances made in that time of the players of that time? if so no we dont, nobody does as there was no competitive football.

Or do you mean do Celtic include the goals as goals the club have scored and again no we dont as how could we include goals scored in competitions that were different to other competitions.

I dont think they even know what they are talking about themselves.

Peoples record and the clubs record of the time are in the non competitive War competitons just like players/clubs records in competitive games are records in competitive games.

The official competitive records of all our players throughout history only include League, Cup, League Cup and European games.

 

I was meaning our goals scored total... They were saying that we include them from that time. So glad that these "titles" will never count.

 

Appearances in the competitions during the war years are not included in the players' records therefore goals scored for the club cannot count either. How can a club claim League and Cup goals scored when both competitions were suspended? It is academic. If Celtic count them then they shouldn't, I'd like to know if we did, is there any evidence of this? If so, where's the harm?

 

The titles will count but they will count as non competitive Wartime Regional League titles as thats what they are.

They cant add them to Scottish League titles as they are no Scottish Leagues. Just the same as we cant count Scottish Cup games as European Cups.

 

You could get yourself a "Wee Green Book" from a Celtic shop.

That has every competitve game played/goal scored by every player thats played for us up until last summer. It doesnt include non competitive games from Regional League, Charity Cups, Coronation Cups, Friendlies etc
