Come on Germany, they should be able to get through this group comfortably enough, but I don't think it'll be as easy as most people think for them.

Portugal and Ghana will be tough but on paper Germany should overcome them without much hassle, USA and Klinsmann are definitely beatable, however, you just never know.

Get through this group then a potential Last 16 clash with either Russia or Belgium, the latter would be interesting.

Theres always one of the 'bigger' teams under performing at these major championships, and i think this time it will be Portugal.

    Germany and USA

No chance. USA are the weakest in this group. Portugal will smash them imo.

Ghana is a young group, very athletic and plays good footbal in accordance with their abilitites. USA has some problems on individuals but i saw a good team and they will not be an easy opponent.

Tough group. Portugal without Ronaldo will be much worse i think.

Germany should be getting at least 7 points here but it doesn't always work out like that.

Everyone talking about Portugal being the surprise underperforming big side, I actually think it will be Germany. They've had an incredibly unfortunate preparation, have the hardest travel schedule and are missing a few key players. I think they'll get out of the group, maybe even just win it, but could easily get knocked out in the second round.

Germany in first. Second place I will go for Portugal, but Ghana will be a very tough side and could take Portugal's spot.

I'd be surprised if Germany didn't finish top.

Portugal looked terrible against a Mexico side that finished 4th in CONCACAF qualifying, I don't think they will come out of this.

We'll get another look tonight against RoI

Wouldn't look into friendlies too much tbh, after all Italy drew against Ireland and Luxembourg.

I would agree normally except for how average they looked - that plus a qualifying round that involved tying Israel twice and needing a comeback against Luxembourg.

I think that if it were Russia in this group, people wouldn't be so sure about them qualifying, and they got in ahead of Portugal.

Tournaments are different. Portugal have gotten to at least the semi-finals in 4 of the last 5 tournaments.

Hopefully they'll be able to tell that to the ref when the US comes out to a 3-0 lead in the first half hour like 2002 :50:
