Difficult, WGS picks the players - but they were *.
I'd say the manager is to blame, he picked Brown ahead of Robson.

 

simple, the players. they didn't show up.

 

Strachan - wrong first 11...sticking with Scotty b again when i thought Crosas / Robson should have been ahead of him without doubt.

Wilson - hard worker, played out of position, got skinned by Cousin.

Hinkel - awful from start to finish, how he has 20 odd caps for Germany is a mystery.

Boruc - beaten at near post, and the less said about Miller's second the better. Still a *, however and he will make it up to us.

Scott Brown / Hartley - didn't impose themselves on the game at all, although Scotty B at least was involved in Sammy's goal.

Samaras - tried to be * Kaka clever with a couple of little unneccessary * that * me off. Time and place son...

Lawell - spending loose change when watching your nearest opposition bring in 10 players. Not good.

Overall, i think that the main concerns we have all been contemplating in recent weeks were found out yesterday. It was an uninspiring day for us, we looked devoid of invention, and if Rangers play like that for the rest of the season, we will not win the title. Fact. Yesterday's defeat was, sadly, the tip of the iceberg.

Another pointless poll.....but i`ll answer what should be obvious....The players, they are the men on the park...They alone are responsible. If you think that the team Strachan put out hasn't the talent to beat that hun side then i don't know mate.....They lost because they didn't want the victory as much as the huns did, didn't want to work for it. The side Strachan put out is far more talented than the side the huns had.

 

It was a bad day and i doubt we will bring players in in the next couple of hours-dissapointing

Rangers scored more goals than us that is why

 

I blame Lawwel cause he promised us ( another year) that we would have good players and that we would invest to take us to a better level,
I blame Strachan cause , we have invested very little money, but we have bought decent players who could be great, like Crosas or Loovens ... and he doesn't use them ... bring on Crosas, like the Huns did with Mendes, who changed the whole style of playing of the Huns.

Obviously, the players are the guiltiest, but Strachan and Lawwell aren't free of guilt.

The Players. We had good enough players to beat that Rangers side without Peter Lawell being forced into "panic buying". They weren't on their game.

for me the causes were

1. LB problem
2. Arturs mental breakdown
3. Micks limitations
4. The bad defending and loss of goals unsettling the very decent non-defense part of the team

deeper causes

1. not signing a LB and perhaps another CB
2. The market making good players very expensive
3. Celtic being overcautious with spending.
All three closely linked.

To me the team selection was close to what I would have picked (Robson aside who may not have been fully match fit) and the formation was fine so I wouldnt blame the manager at all. We looked like we might have the skill to win by a few until we started shipping goals. It was all about individual errors IMO - Artur, Wilson and Mick being the culprits.

 

I'm struggling to decide who's red card was more stupid: Paul Scholes' or Jan's. Both could have been avoided.
I think that the players were to blame and that Smith got his tactics right.
I can't help but think it would have been a different story if Maloney's shot had went in when it was 1-1.

 

There is a number of people who have no right to say it's Lawell's fault for not giving Strachan money. When he has money to spend some of you complain that he's not spending it right!

 

There is a reason for that though mate - despite getting Gravesen off the wage bill, we have spent a pittance in comparison with the Evil Ones, and yet WE are the team in the CL with all the money!

Also, track record of late - Jarosik, Gravesen, Miller, Brown, Donati, Telfer, Dublin, Du Wei, Virgo, Brown (Keeper), Riordan, Killen, Doumbe...

Due respect - but that's a lot of money on a bag of *.

 

STRACHAN - he buys a play maker from barcelona and wen wee need a goal/2/3 he doesnt even think about bringin him on....it takes him about 80 mins to realise that he has to make a sub

get rid of him or tell him to sort it out!
