why was so much money spent on juarez when he doesnt get on

was just thinking the reported £3-4 million spent on juarez could have been spent on a good centre half or a pretty good striker, its odd that such a large amount of transfer funds was used on a player who has had very limited opportunities the past few months. Early in the season he looked pretty decent then he was strangely outcasted and has been restricted to the odd sub appearance where he has looked poor which is understandable not getting enough time to get to speed with a game. Why spend so much on our strongest department (midfield) when he is never used and the defence and attack needed strengthened for a long time?

I know, this really annoys me. when i think over what midfielders we have, ive started to forget him now! I, like others expected him to make a huge impact and be a regular, but it hasn't happened. and its particularly frustrating considering how much money we spent on him.

 

can only agree with you there mate, looked quality at the start of the season, but hasnt had a look in since, i was thinking maybe he hadn't adapted to the weather, after all mexico to a scottish winter is a big jump!! hope he's back on form soon because he'd do well in midfield or at right back:icon_mrgreen:

According to Lennon at one of the fans forums in the summer it was £2M he cost. Tbh would like to see him get a chance at right back as cha does not fill me with confidence at all, take away his pace and i struggle to see any good attributes to his game. Hopefully he will get a run out against berwick

Dropping Ledley and Kapo is bad enough.

 

It's just realy is shocking that he isnt getting much of a chance, its not as if mowbray signed him, just think that money could have signed a real quality striker or centre half

 

no matter who we choose in midfield there are too many of them when other parts of the team should have had priority for large sums of money e.g defence which has only had £600,000 spent on it. Cha can fill in but isnt great, and maj is strong but clumsy and prone to mistakes like loovens he just makes slightly less mistakes

 

im only guessing but the only reason i can think of him not getting games is poor attitude or poor commitment ,he has not had enuf game time even for lenny to form an opinion of his value to the team ,so for me it reeks of a deeks .

 

Good point, but lenny should have also had a fair idea of his value before departing with such a large sum of cash

 

We didn't spend anywhere near 4 million on him for a start.

 

Ki has been good must admit but if was between him or kayal i would drop ki. dont rate ledley he has done nothing since he came not saying hes bad just saying hes not done much and we haven't seen alot of kapo to see what hes like although he was playing well against motherwell before he got injured.

 

Our we sue that it was lenny who actually wanted to sign him and not a player the board wanted for commercial reasons

 

so many different sources ranging from £2.5 - 4, but a fair chunk of cash was still spent on him though, 1st choice fee if you know what i mean

 

I dont think he's better than what we have & even if he did cost 3 Mill that rightfully doesnt make him an automatic starter

 

has anyone considered the fact that we've played with 2 central midfielders apart from away in europe and on sunday and Lenny reckons the other midfielders are in better form so that why he can't get in the team?
not every new signing clicks straight away when they move to a new country
he's only 22 and will get his chance to prove his quality which i'm confident he will do
im not worried about him at the moment

 

Sometime it just does not work out for a player.....or they open their big mouth or think they are super stars and refuse to do whats asked of them.
Or a simple loss of form.....as fans i dont think we will ever know what happens to players when they get dropped and maybe sold on.
