    It shouldn't be up for debate because everybody is different and has a different history. People can chose to support whichever country they want and nobody should be telling them any different.

    Scotland. I would still want Ireland to get through thouugh - 3rd place.

    Ireland v Scotland is an easy excuse for a trip to Dublin and a right good *-up.

    Debate? There is no debate at all.... people should support who they want.


    It shouldn't be decided by others who they "should" support. (same goes for players and who they play for)

    I would imagine in most people case it will be pretty cut and dry along those lines, but is there anyone who is Scottish (born and raised) who is supporting Ireland?

    That would be a more interesting poll

    Double standards for clubs and countries then is it? People can support whoever they want internationally but people get called glory hunters if they support a club that isnt remotely local to them? If you are Scottish and are supporting Ireland just because you are a Celtic fan I can't understand that, and vica versa.

    Would you also judge Celtics support in Ireland or England? I have yet to see a post here criticising an English supporter supporting Celtic because his dad was Scottish or Irish. I am sure if a poster here said he was English and was supporting Scotland because his family were from there he would be praised.

    Fair enough. I just can't get my head around why some people get so vexed over it ( not saying you do). For me I know who I support and just genuinely couldn't give a * who other people chose to support.
