nobody else is even close to fitting the criteria. he's at least close. if he displays the form we think he's capable of, it's a no brainer. there's only the small matter of how to rip the armband from skoosh and have it be civil

 

To be honest I'M not too sure because Neil Lennon must see that brown has the respect of the players on and off the field or he wouldn't have been captain but it doesn't really show on the pitch so I'm kinda baffled to why he is captain?. Hooiveld talks a good game and seem a great guy from his press conferences but i just haven't got a clue on this 1

 

Brown shouldn't be anywhere near the team bever mind captian.

Jos seems like a natural leader, but would want to see more of his ablity before giving him the arm band.


I say sign Keane and give him the arm band

 

With the current squad who else could it be other than Brown or Jos? Hinkel maybe but hes on his way out. Maybe Ledley? He's only a young lad too but hes Captained Wales before. Really I'm hoping Big Jos cements himself a starting centre back position and gets the armband.

its a shsme for big jos his first season was ruined by injury,if he had played in first season and looked impressive i reckon he would definetely be captain right now.
Mowbrays decision to make brown captain was another poor move from him, staying with put with a poor decision through fear of upsetting the applecart seems crazy. Problem is apart from Jos no one else (for me) stands out?

 

This has been the problem for the last couple of seasons- no real leaders on the park!

Hopefully we have signed a couple, but early days with Jos needs to do more than make noise like a captain.
I would like to see a really experienced centre half sign and make him captain someone like Gallas. I think it would help Browns game to be relieved of captaincy.

To tell the truth I don't really care who is captain as I don't think any of them have shown they are worthy of being Celtic captain.

Maybe in time Jos or one of the new signings will show they deserve it but just now not one single player has shown me that on the pitch they have the qualities required to be a Celtic captain. It's all well and good talking a good game as Jos certainly does but he needs to show those same qualities on the pitch, as that is where it really matters.

Brown was captian most of last season when McManus left on loan and then completly.

On top of that hes done nothing to prove that hes capable being in the team since he joined never mind being capable of captianing the team.

 

Some people are clueless on here, brown has had 3 season's on here, when he goes out the team we play better football, Ledley is better attacking than Brown so he must be droped to get Ledley do his stuff!!

 

I think whoever has been there the longest as a regular starter and is definetley staying and getting in the first team should be captain, so Scott Brown. He is really lacking leadership at the moment and Big Jos is also by the looks of it very strict and obstinate. He wants a winning team.

No other options. Jos Hooiveld have played two * games for Celtic, and have still to show he even deserve a place in the line-up.
Beram Kayal could be a leader, but can't even speak english.
Andy Hinkel is away out of the door.

The consistency from the big change it the squad. Very few "original" players who have been in Celtic for years. And Scott Brown is the only stand-out.

Anyhow, Lennon have said Scott Brown is the man in the current squad. Now we have to go down the line without showing lack of guts. We can't change line-up and captain everytime we going into some headwind.

Going by that Darren O'Dea should maybe get the armband
