I watch alot of European Club football and I would rate Celtic as 10th in The Whole Of Europe, I think if we were in The Champions league right now we'd be doing very well indeed and would have qualified for The Second Round this time, this is not a biased view it's based on what I've seen from all the Top Euro Teams so far this Season.

    Bacelona
    Chelsea
    Juventus
    Bayern Munich
    AC Milan
    Arsenal
    Real Madrid
    Lyon
    Inter Milan
    Celtic
    Man Utd
    Feyenoord
    Bolton
    Werder Bremen
    PSV
    Liverpool

So what in terms of Euro Club Ratings what Postion in The Top 16 do you think Celtic Lie? (If you think we're in it at all), I'd be interested to see everyone's Top 16 like I did and where Celtic would possibly feature in it Cheers.

In my opinion there is a top tier of European football:

Chelsea, Man Utd, Barcelona, Real, Bayern, AC Milan and Juventus.

These seven are almost unbeatable on form and have massive financial wealth.

Then their is a second tier:

Arsenal, Liverpool, Inter, Lyon, PSV etc.

I think Celtic are in this second tier as we are a big, successful team but financially we are no where near the teams in top tier. I believe that on any given day we can beat them in the top tier (Barca and Juve for e.g.) but these teams are the cream, and they often rise to the top. We simply can't really touch the big teams in our current climate.

    That is my non-biased view.

I agree on the whole Murphy but I must say in my Opinion Feyenoord have looked sharper than PSV this year so far by just a little.

Feyenoord have been average in recent seasons following their Uefa Cup win although their recent form is good. I would still have PSV ahead of them as PSV should have been in the CL final last year.

    CelticLover, you must be knackered!

Have you had any sleep at all?

At the moment Celtic wouldn't qualify from a tough group. Our full backs would be exploited easily by decent european opposition. We need to sign Wilson, McNaughton, Roy Keane & Robbie Keane to have depth in postions where we are lacking.

We have gaps that aren't being shown up in the SPL, Milan would exploit us now like Artmedia exploited us then

I think Celtic are building another good team and I look forward to seeing how we cope in Europe next season. Right now, it's hard to make judgement on how we might or might not do. But things look positive for now and if we add a little more quality at the back, then we might be able to mount a challenge in Europe similar to that of MON era.

we r up there with the best, but what if the defence had a off day like fartmeadia mwell (start of the season) ronaldino shevchenko and the likes could run riot but we hav the strikeforce 2 giv any team a hard time 2 :celt_2:

I think atm the are only three almost unbeatable teams: Barcelona, chelsea and lyon, although both have their weak spots. Teams like real, arsenal and inter and highly overrated because of their past glory and their wealth. Take real fer example: they get humped very often and their play is not near as spectacular as it used tae be and ye can expect almost any team to pose huge problems tae their defence. Also, arsenal are dying. They're a shadow of what they use to be a couple of seasons ago. Although most of the so called "top teams" of europe pretty much suck, the wealth and they're prestige make them good. Celtic is between teams like psv, lyon and bremen. Very talented teams who are underrated because of the expired "grand" temas of europe. I'd definitely put celtic into the top 15, maby even top 10 teams of europe.

Bacaelona too good bhoys(Ronaldinho what a player but couldn't score against us)
    AC-Milian
    Chelsea
    Juventus
    Bayern Munich
    Lyon
    Inter-Milan
    Liverpool
    Werder Bremen
    Ajax
Celtic (once we are in Europe can't judge us yet but we will be good)

Thats mine bhoys celtic in 11,I think Lyon have a very good chance of winning the C.L this year there team has been great in there League+in the C.L as well but with most clubs you need Money to attract the best platers in my opinion so Barca are tops Chelsea should be 2nd but there still a bit weak in Europe i think,Once Celtic get back in to The C.L then we could judge our side but if they keep playing the way we have we could destroy Any Team bhoys!

Before todays game i would have ranked us right up there but after todays it shows that we would need to be up for it every game to even think of beating any of the top 24 europe elite. still would say on our day around 10th to 12th

The team = outside top 64
The club ( including financial weight) = outside top 32
The support = no. 1 without a doubt

We definatly arent 10th best in europe thats for sure, however i do believe we are better than teams such as the Feyenoords, Boltons, Bremens (They are very overratd from there league sucess a few years back, they really are a nuff team in all honesty).

Lol Mate I don't agree Celtic are in The Top 20 easy, I wouldn't worry too much about today's defeat To Dunfermline it's just a Freak Result we've got alot of key players not fit and had no luck today it's football and this happens, look at last week how easily we beat The Huns twice and how hard Inter Milan, Porto and Fartmedia have found it to beat them, just remember the recent double header and don't get get too pesimistic about Today's freak score, Celtic are Top 20 Easy and still Top of The League and trebles on , The Huns need to win tomorrow just to pull it back to 12 Points lol

This thread kinda highlights the blind faith us i often get accused of. Without becoming the bad guy here i dont think at preset celtic are anywhere near up top in Europe. We would be pushing mid to bottom table in the premiership let along a force in europe! The team is playing well at the moment but its extreamly edgy...we still know how to throw a game. Its still early days though and i reckon next year the team will be much strongr and ready for europe. but at the moment we are just sailing along in th SPL.

I'm happy if we always ahead o the Huns and aspiring to be Chelsea or Barca on the pitch.

Think we'd be lucky to sneak into top 25 clubs...
