Most Catholics in Glasgow are the descendants of Irish so, easyish to find out.

Probably Toryglen 45.5% of people in Toryglen are Catholic, the most in any area of Glasgow. The other top areas are Hutchesontown, Carmunnock, Robroyston, Wallacewell, Milton and Castlemilk in that order.

I've lived in Toryglen my entire life (21 years) and I have never found it to be "Irish" or even majority Celtic.

Always comes across as 50-50 like most areas in the city.

    Dont know.

Just googled and that one came up from 2001. Probably changed a lot though as looking at some of the stats, there are 5% more catholics under 15 that protestants and there are almost double the protestants as there are catholics who were over 75 who will mostly all be dead now.

I looked at the stats(just big main ones) from 2011, Glasgow is now or was then a Catholic majority :shamrock::celt_2:

    161,685 Catholics
    136,889 Church of Scotland
    24,380 Other Christian

In the 2001 census there was more Church of Scotland than Catholic alone, now theres more Catholic than all other Christians combined.
