Say it was January 2009...

The board give you 8million to spend.

From there on what would you have done as manager

A possible change of formation?
Selling and buying players?

Just imagine what it would be like to be manager of one of the world's greatest clubs. Just thinking of it gives me shivers

On a serious note, buy Janko. That would have been about it, if truth be told (if someone were to have bid a cheeky 3 million for Jan, i would have taken that as well, but that's a different story).

Its too hard to say really, ideally i would agree with stevie and got in a left back and a striker. I dont think the right players were available to do it though.

 

We were close to getting Fletcher. Wonder how that would've turned out.....

 

Well first of I would get Balde and Mcourt tai *, that should fetch me about another 1 million quid.

Then I would Set my curfew and rules conduct etc etc, Banning mcgeady and co from nightclubs n *.
I would spend 5 million on young players saivet,santon,sunu etc etc

In a few years this would be my team

Santon is now a first team player with Inter no chance of him coming or being let go, I did buy him in my first season of FM 09 right enough and sold the * for 18 million to AC, right on !

Nice one mate. I did and done a great job and had the league wrapped up before christmas. If only it was real life and the board weren't tight arses...

 

There are very good reason why the board are careful and people should trust the people that have brought about 6 SPL's in 9 seasons

 

I'd get the team used to a couple of new formations, whilst scrapping flat 4-4-2. I'd test Mišun immediately in a home Scottish Cup game or something... I'd buy young players from Scandinavia(Sweden and Finland mainly), Russia or East Asia, as those parts have undiscovered gems. Primary targets:Jungo Fujimoto or Alexei Eremenko, both attacking midfielders.

 

i would have offered villa mc geady,tried to get a deal like shorley and 5millon.would have offered cardiff 3 millon plus loovens for joe ledley.i doubt we would have got balde out off books,but i would have tried.same as doumbe why we have him i dont know.for the money,id probley have signed misun and got rid off naylor.i would cut my losses with donati,flood for less than 100k is a great signing.hutzi for under 3 millon would still be a good signing,with 6 months left or not.as soon as you sign him,you have an asset for at least that value.i wouldnt have loaned caddis out,but the rest off the loaned players i wouldnt have had a problem.sell jvh for around 3 millon and id have signed sylvain ebanks blake from wolves for around 6 millon.i think its time we let go of john kennedy,he's too injury prone.probley bring in berra from hearts for around 2millon.got rid off mark brown and bring in zulaska 6 months earlier.

I would loan out caddis as we do not need defensive back up ?
I would talk * to the scotish scum media and be best pals with chick dung ?

Play my best mates every week although good old common sense tells me a change is needed.
Loan out hutchinson to another spl team for experience ?
Give the 8 million to the sharp suited one to put away for a rainy day.

 

I would have went for Zaluska as planned for summer
I would be looking for proper cover of Crosas in central midfield in case of injury
I would have got someone more talented than Flood to take Nakas place when he leaves.

I would change the system to 3-5-2 and with being 7 points clear at the time I'm sure we would be no worse off than we are now.

I would bring Back Bobo at the Back and have Mick and Caldwell either side off him.
If you remember the Dundee UTD game last January I'm sure you would be seeing the same from Bobo once again and within a month you will be wondering why he was left out in the first place. it's not his fault he is the highest paid and is not playing.

I would have Brown and Robson doing the graft work in Midfield and coming back to help out when needed and Crosas in the middle.
I would have VGoH an skippy up front as usual. you don't become a bad players over night and they both have great track records
I would have any 2 from Naka, McGeady and Malloney on the flanks
I would not play zonal at set pieces
I would make sure we don't give silly corners away
I would make sure no fouls where giving from anywhere a set piece can be taking from

All players are asking to be brought down now as they see this as chance to get at us. You just have to look at the Motherwell game and many more before it and the lesson still hasn't been learned.

I would change the formation when it is clearly not working in a game rather than changing like for like.
My subs would be set up for formation change in mind if need be.
I would not rotate players as this upsets the rhythm. unless form has a dip
I would be giving my subs and the best other non first team players a full start in the CIS cup competition even in the Final.
I would be Honest when asked a question in a interview after the game provided it's not going to get me a fine or sound cheeky.
I would do my best to bring Celtic forward as a football club
I would want to bow out before being pushed as ultimately we want the best (Results) and if I'm not providing it , I would not like to put the club into a bad place before leaving ( not saying we are there now)

And last but not least I would be doing a MON celebration after a goal, all the way down to the Rangers end showing a few get it up signs into the bargain . and realising 5 min later ....OH *.
