Musical instruments are really good at that age for development.

If you like his parents get him a wee kiddies acoustic guitar, if you don't like them so much get him a drum. :icon_mrgreen:

Tbh I'm a right lazy git and get my nephews cloths.
They've All got enough toys and * that clutters the house so cloths are always a sensible option.

Couple of toy cars or trucks to go with the mat a few posts above :50:

Failing that....a Panasonic 50" Plazma with built in Freeview and DVD player and 5.1 Surround Sound System :50:

My boy is 2 in a few months, I'd suggest toys for outdoors at this time of year or if you're really struggling just get a gift card for mothercare. You can't go wrong with that.

My lad turned 2 on Sunday just gone.He got a mini slide from the in-laws and absolutely loves it.cant get him off the * thing at the moment,he's made up.
One of the presents we got him was an easel (sp) which is one side chalk board and the other a white board as he loves drawing on things.if he's not outside on his slide he's inside scribbling on it.
Sometimes the more basic, the better.not every kid loves things that light up and beep and fart.another present we got him was a remote control car (18m+) and he's hardly touched it.
He also got a Mr Potato Head which he loves
