He’s playing out of position!!! I said in the match thread the other day this would be a massive problem for us, 2 left footed CB’s at the back at this level.

Should’ve been bled into the side properly. Has had far too few minutes in Rodgers’ system to be expected to step up to this level. Pretty poor prep from Rodgers, considering he knows CCV is injury prone.

 

His positioning against Falkirk was a major red flag.

Don't think it's down to the opposition, he just isn't very good.

 

We might as well have put £6m on a bonfire and burnt it. He is a donkey.

 

I'm not one for writing players off, but this might be the worst I've ever seen a player play for us.

 

Championship to Champions League is about 5 levels up. Think he'll be fine domestically and in some of the other euro games against weaker teams but....this goes in the Rodgers poor signing basket...amongst the many others he's had in the past.

 

Baptism of fire tonight, reminded me of Hendry in the qualifiers, should have been nowhere near the side in general.

Shows how important getting another CB in was during the summer, and how important it is in January.

The early signs aren't great from what we've seen but in fairness have to cut him some slack he was in our reserves essentially against Falkirk then flung in at the deep end tonight

 

He, Scales and Schmeichel were hung out to dry. No protection today. I'm not gonna blame them

 

Looks every bit like a player that was relegated with one of the worst EPL defences of all time

 

Yeah, he didn't look to clever, but we had no midfield defence to speak of - that for me is the main problem. And Greg Taylor.. Jesus Christ, I like him and he is great in the SPL, but as every one of us has said for years, he is MILES off it in Europe.

 

Bring back Du Wei. Don’t think he was as bad

 

Said it when we got linked with him, he wasn’t good enough. 6 million for him is criminal.

Again when we got linked initially I said on the thread he was utter dross against Everton and Liverpool last season and Sheff Utd Fans were glad to see the back of him.

He’s a 2-3 million pound player at a push and we’ve had our pants pulled down with him.

I’ve seen milk turn quicker than him.

I wanted to get behind him, but tonight showed he simply can’t hack it when it’s time to step up.

Rather we give Welsh a run of games.

 

I thought he was a bit unlucky with the deflection but didn't really do much else right or wrong. The biggest thing I noticed was he was totally incapable of passing the ball out, maybe that's cause he was on the left or maybe he's just poor.

I think the full-backs were both far worse than he was, in truth
