Ok, Im probably gonna get slaughtered for this, but seriously... does anyone have ANY confidence in Gordon anymore?

My thoughts on him are well documented, so I wont reiterate, but his time is surely up ffs.

Capable of an outstanding save here and there? of course.
General goalkeeping duties? Utter brain fart.

And no these arent things he can work on, he's 34, his development is done.

Tuesdays disaster reminded me of how in virtually the same situation, Fraser Forster, hedman, boruc, even wee marshall kept the worlds best at the door when our defences crumbled.

We're in the most lucrative competition on the planet, we NEED to invest in a solid keeper.

The best keeper in the world would struggle behind that defence.

Don't think he was to blame for any of the goals tbh but I agree with your point that we need a new keeper.
Every time we have had any success in the champions league our keepers have played a blinder, can't really remember Gordon doing the same.

It's the fact he has no competition either as we know De Vries isn't good enough. The number of goals that Gordon's conceded being beaten at his near post is worrying as well.

    That's a fair argument.

Gordon is not bad, but looking back, the 2-1 victory against Barcelona could easily have been a drubbing like what we got from PSG if we had an average goalkeeper instead of Forster.

He is not pish, but as the lad above says, the only way we can compete with the top clubs is with a top keeper.

Plus he is aging and doesn't have a remotely decent substitute.

No problems with Gordon. Makes no more mistakes than most top keepers.

He's good enough. Will need a new keeper eventually but no rush

He's dodgy with the ball at his feet but he seems to do well in Europe? You also mentioned Hedman in your list, Hedman was * hopeless

Been saying it for a while but the best keeper in the league is at Aberdeen in Joe Lewis he's superb, his performance against Hearts was up there with some of Big Fraser's displays

I think he does, also rarely pulls off any unexpected saves

Those sort of saves, I have no confidence in Gordon being able to pull them off on a remotely semi regular basis.

When was the last time we actually saw Gordon pull off a long leaping, stretched as tall as can be save?
Most that seem to be out of an average jump distance from him, he watches go by.

Drop a ball on the six yard line and Gordon doesn't know what to do with it. He comes. He goes, he thinks a little too long, then panic.

Anyone wants to score against us, aim for a corner of the net or swing a ball to drop right on the six yard box. The guy doesn't have either covered.

Gordon wasn't at fault for any of PSG's goals tbh.

Their first goal: Sinclair fouled, Griffiths lost possession, Ralton lost Neymar.

Their second: Mbappe left unmarked at the far post and scores from point blank range.

Their third: Excellent penalty put away by Cavani

    Their fourth: Lustig OG

Their fifth: World Class header that would have beaten any goalie.

drop the ball at Gordons feet and he looks like * bambi learning to walk. Im always baffled how a pro footballer can be so uncomfortable, keeper or not.

Not getting a new GK was a bigger issue then a new CB for me, I've been saying for ages now we need a new GK.

Gordon can't be blamed for the 5-0 obviously, but in general having the right keepr inbetween the sticks can really help the defence in front of him, something which I don't think is one of Gordon's strong points
