So you don't deny it. Good, good. Welcome back, Dirty Harry.:56:

Caldwell can play centre-half. He's our captain, but he's showing lot of inliability these days. In past few matches he was, I must say, horrible. Now, I would welcome Mick back from injury and I hope Heid sorts himself out soon.

absolutely agree we badly need a centre half who commands the back 4,how many chances has caldwell fcuked up this season for club and country, hes ok for the scottish premier league but in europe he is a liability, ive been saying that for the past 3yrs,o,dea and loovens and mc manus are not commmanding enough 2, they need a roy aitken to play along side them

We need a creative midfielder more than we need a centre half. Caldwell will be a mainstay when his form improves, he's taken all this flak before and rose above it all.

When Caldwell regains hi form the defense will settle down ,cant fault the teams mentality at all for the way the play the ball about on the deck and there willingness to attack .

Don't we have a creative midfielder in Crosas though as well as the resurgence of Donati so far this season?

Caldwell is just not having a good time of it right now Scotland/Celtic wise but if he gets it out the way at the start of season and improve upon his game he'll get the form back that won him player of the year last season.

With mcManus back before the end of the year he'll no doubt be pushing for a return to the first team and I'm sure Caldwell will up his game to ensure he remains captain and 1st choice CB.

Caldwell, McManus, O'Dea, Loovens and Mo Mo Massimo read to step in. Wouldnt say CB is a priority.

We would have had a world class centre half in january if the board scrapped together the 3 million for the auxerre boy gabby tamas but decided to sign loovens for the cheaper going rate at 2.2 million or so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

instead of paying the the extra mill has completley blew up in there faces as this guy was the real deal and we would probly have won the league as well!!!! 1 thing is clear gary caldwell, s form does not merrit a starting place!!!

I say Massimo needs to be tested against Hibs, just in case. And give the armband to Brown.

Or maybe against Arsenal, who knows...

I'd like to see more of Crosas as I think he is quality personally and I think Donati has been doing well as well. Neither of them are going to score or create in the final third much though. We've still never replaced Petrov, although you could always rely on Naka for a special defence splitting ball or a free kick when we're under the cosh. We're lacking another player of that ilk imo.

Gabriel Tamas...world class....in the same sentence....you're having a laugh, surely???

Tamas is around 25 and already has had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus. At his latest club he was caught drinking alcohol at training. The guy is a liability and was a bullet we luckily dodged.

Mick might have been hiding a muscle strain, but at least he wasn't hiding moonshine in his locker.

    If we are to sign a new Centre back, IMO someone already on the books will have to move on. We currently have;

    Gary Caldwell
    Stephen McManus
    Glenn Loovens
    Darren O'Dea
    John Kennedy
    Josh Thomson

We also have Milan Misun who has played CB in the reserves. Caldwell and O'Dea are both in the last year of their contracts, and on that basis should probably be the first in the queue for being sold.

yeah we do need an new cb. i think all of our cb's have there flaws but i think while we have no outstanding cb we should stickw ith caldwell and loovens. yes caldwell id having a bad time but he had a terific game in moscow, i think he is still geting over the scotland noway match.

So we've came to the conclusion we need a centre half.....so with a budget of 2 n a half to 3 mill who should we buy that would inprove the situation.
