Next year I plan on visiting Lisbon for my 60th birthday.
Apart from the stadium tour is there anything you recommend to visit.
I like visiting old monuments and palaces and museums as well as beaches.

Sounds like you would like both Sintra and Peña Palace which are two popular day trips from Lisbon. I didn’t have time to do the latter but it ticks the palace box, but I would definitely recommend the former - nice bit of an escape into a very green/lush Portuguese countryside.

Timeout Market is highly recommended for food, and a few drinks. Loads do great restaurants dotted around the city tbh although we stuck mainly to Barrio Alto. Same with bars.

Try a Pastel de Nata at Manteigaria - best one we had.

some really good viewpoints to see the city from, including a loft in the centre of the city (you’ll know it when you see it) and the Castel de Saint Jorge.

I didn’t visit the beach here, but Belem is a coastal district that probably has some sort of beach access.

It’s a great city. Don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say they didn’t enjoy their time there.

One of the best steak meals I have ever had was in Atalho Real in Lisbon. Beautiful setting and great food and it is inexpensive.

Lisbon is the cheapest capital city in Western Europe and you do notice it.

@Saul Goodman went back in February and enjoyed the city (and the aforementioned steak restaurant) too.

My wife's from Sétubal, a short drive outside Lisbon. I'll ask her for a wee list of recommendations.

The visit to the Benfica stadium was really good, they have the best set up a have ever seen, Museum, Superstore, beer stalls, the place is heaving with people even on non match days, they even bring out the eagles on the tour. They have really friendly fans and got talking to loads of them they kept approaching me because of my hoops top.
