UEFA CL Group?

Is it possible that we are waiting for our CL group before committing to new signings? Would make sense. Pot 2 gives us a great chance but we're never lucky with this tournament.

The worst group we could get is:

1-Barcelona
2-Celtic
3-Benfica
4-Dinamo Kiev

If we get a group of death like this the board might think "What's the point in splashing out, we've no chance"

But if we get the weakest side in each pot:

1-Valencia
2-Celtic
3-Olympiakos
4-Slovan Liberec

I reckon they'll go for it and get some big guns in.

 

Olympiakos aren't the worst team in pot 3 imo.

Steau would be my favoured choice.

 

Personally I think Romania would be a hard place to go away to and come back with all three points. Although, I'd much rather that than Olympiakos!

Close call but Olympiakos finished bottom of their CL group last year(behind Rosenborg) and Steau only missed out on the Uefa cup final after that mad game at Middlesboro with the last minute goal. Pot 3 is tight, not much between them all (except for Benfica).

I hope we get Lisbon as I fancy a trip there

No no no, not going to Turkey. Lisbon would be nice, loved Barcelona 2 years back, quite fancy Milan as well but then the Mrs. would want to go. Can't have that.

 

Was a wee joke about Turkey.

I have never been to Italia because people who I know that have been there before have encountered trouble.

lOOkin at it, I dunno who i'd take but I think if we can get our act together in time then I think we could go through. I reckon the Seville team would go through in this situation, shame we never got a 2nd seed under O'Neill.
