I wasn't sure at first but the more I think about it I think he would be a breathe of fresh air. He has history at the club as a player creating th celtic huddle and his style of football is classic celtic style of play.

He has done a fantastic job at West Brom, getting them into the premier league and playing great stuff. He was extremely unlucky to be relegated and he done all this with not spending much money.

He may not be everyones choice but I think he could unite the fans behind the team again and get us playing the way we like the team to play.

He has also managed Brown and Caldwell before at hibs were he was loved by the fans.

I think we could do alot worse.

True but we want a manager who is going to come in and get a team into gear and if the players are pally with him they might just * about.

    All style and no substance.

I don't fancy free flowing football and no trophies personally but I'm sure there'll be some that will.

Your the first person I've heard describe what WGS was doing at Celtic as Beautiful football. Mowbray got relegated from a league containing Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea playing great football with no resources. I think you are being too hard on his achievements.

I will be quite happy if Mogga gets the job. I like his fast, attacking brand of football and all the Hibbies I know raved about how good they were to watch when Mowbray was their manager. My one slight concern with Mowbray is his teams have been dodgy at the back. One of our weaknesses is our defence and Mowbray, up to this point, hasn't really shown that he can build a solid defence. I think there would be more positives than negatives to giving him the job though.

Yes but even bigger problem this year was our lack of creativity and I think that he would sort that out for sure. We should be playing SPL teams off the park with good football not scoring a goal then defending for 70 mins.

It's strange that his teams have been weak at the back as he was a CB himself but they have. That is the one negative but I think that our defense with Caldwell and Loovens will be solid next year.

He'd be my choice within the realistic available managers. And isnt peter grant his assistant?

He's my choice, has been for about a year. If the others get a thread so should he.

Shows a commitment to playing football the right way, which is in keeping with the ethos of Celtic. it's what i want to see at Celtic, we have players who can play - so lets get a manager who can get them playing.

Didn't have a big budget at Hibs or West Brom, yet those teams played some great stuff and achieved. And it says a lot that the fans loved him, and so did the players.

As for Hammer's comment about 'all style no substance'. What nonsense. His first full season at West Brom, they walked the league. They scored loads of goals and won the championship. They were one of the bigger teams in the league. Celtic are the biggest team in this league and i think he could do the same kind of thing here.

    I hope we get him.

At first i decided that i didnt want Mowbray but I'v thought it through and realised that i will start to look forward to watching celtic again. At hibs he usually played 3 upfront and they were really good to watch. Bearing in mind he was at hibs who have the biggest tight-* of a chairman , meant he had to work with limited resources. At celtic he will have at least £10 million to spend I'd imagine and im confident that he will spend it wisely.

He finished 3rd and 4th with Hibs i think. Thats not bad at all.

He finished 4th then 1st with WBA in the Championship, and thats not bad either.

He refused to ditch the 'total football' in order for a more robust style of play in order to stay in the Premiership. Are you going to be happy when we're getting beat 1 nil at St Mirren on a wet Wednesday and he refuses to fire some balls in the box to try and get a goal?

It's like Wenger except at the other end of the scale. If you're going to be the Celtic manager you need a plan B and for me Mowbray doesn't have it.
