Do you think Thompson will be handed a debut if Loovens is out,we already know McManus is out?.

Do you think he will let us down or impress?

    Thoughts..

I don't think he will play. I think mogga will go with Zhi, just for the experience

saw him a few times and don't think he is ready yet, in saying that can't really be any worse than mcmanus or caldwell.
I would have odea back in a shot...can't remember him ever letting us down, he's a consistent player who doesn't get the credit he deserves.
He knows his strengths and plays to them and if given a run in the team his confidence would grow.

Mowbray mentioned Zheng Zhi's versatility when we signed him so I'd imagine he'd go for him with Thompson on the bench.

He's rough round the edges but one thing that won't happen which you'd normally see with an 18 year old, especially a centre half, is him being pushed off the ball. He's a big chunk of a lad.

Might be worth playing him as his height could be vital for us given that Mcmanus and loovens are both out.
Dundee Utd have a lot of height in their team and will look atexploiting our lack of it.

Hope he doesn't play Zhi in defence, he just doesn't look like he can play CB. Give Thompson a go, he can't be worse than McManus.

I would give the guy a chance, Rangers did with Danny Wilson and he has not let them down.

Would prefer him to play than Zheng Zhi, but am not on the training field every day and only Mogga will know if he is ready or training well.

I hope he gets tried out ,Mowbray has given the centre backs plenty of time to sort themselves out and it hasnt happened ,time to try someone else .

I don't think Josh Thomson could be any worse than the Chuckle Brothers, in fact he could be a whole lot better. My only concern is that it is Chuckle Brother No.1 that he would be playing alongside if picked.

I think Mowbray knows more than what he lets on :84:

I have mixed feelings about this game tomorrow for a number of factors.

    1. We are a point behind Rangers now
    2. We are not playing well at the moment, and are low in confidence.
    3. We have a poor record against Dundee United over the last year or so.
    4. The pitch will be very heavy if it goes ahead
    5. We are injury ravaged as well with key players missing

If we lose we would be 1 point behind Rangers still, with them having a game in hand.

Even a draw would just draw us level, and still give Rangers a game in hand, and I can't see us getting more than a draw tomorrow to be honest.

It might be better for us if the game is off, and I never thought I would say that before.
