I miss just being care free to be honest, and the memories you have with your friends that no one else but yourself will realize how good it was... Oh how I took childhood for granted.

Yes, the first two things that came to my mind were innocence and ignorance. The '90s were a relatively peaceful time from a Western point of view. I don't remember the Berlin Wall (I was born just a few months before it was torn down), and the Balkan Conflict and first Gulf War were before my time as well. I didn't really know people still hated each other until about 2000 when I started reading more about history.

Finding * mags under the beds of my mates big brothers :50: In the 70's long before the net and late night Channel 4 movies, * mags were the highlight of any boy's life :icon_mrgreen:

I miss mostly sports, I was a very sporty child, played netball, hockey, football, did althletics.....I was happiest when doing one of those. Collecting football cards/stickers was also alot of fun as was going out bramble and damson picking with my dad the coming home and making jam.

Adventures and climbing and stuff when on holiday at St Andrews or Loch Lomond or going across the loch to Rob Roy's cave and actually finding the remains of RobRoy's camp fire and believing all the stuff yur uncles and old man were telling you. That was great. I do the same to my kids. We find dinosaur bones and stone age arrow points all the time.

I also miss the carefree ignorance like Mr Brightside said. And ice slides when we used to have real winters in the 70s and 80s.

Thrashing England at half time in the street at the Scotland-England game.

Exploring down the Moss or Penny Pond and finding deceased animals.

Not having to work, not having a body that ached everytime I do something physical, being fast as *, not being depressed, going to school and * around with my mates, meeting people without the obligatory handshake, playing football for HOURS, being able to see mates without them/you having to check with the girlfriend/wife, being optimistic about the future, thinking the best about people, rather than the worst and finally, NOT BEING IN DEBT.

One good thing about being an *; at least we beat the DOBs these days:86:!

Playing football in the summer from the minute you woke up until it was that dark you couldn't see 2 feet in front of yourself, only stopping to go in and wolf down your dinner and come straight back out.

First day of the schol holidays. 6 weeks seemed like forever. I suppose it is now that we're working.

First day school hols was happiness, pure unadulterated elation.

Whoever said luckybags, well remembered! Totally forgot about them. Also, candysticks with football cards inside. I think I have the complete set from '94-'95.
