When you look back at that Strachan legacy dispassionately, it is clear we were spoiled with three league titles in a row, plenty of silverware, and two consecutive Last 16 places in the Champions League, yet despite all that Strachan was never loved by the Celtic fans, the way Stein and Mon were I feel. Since then we have lost three leagues in a row, saw out the debacle of Mowbray's reign, and just completed the first year of Lennon's reign.Did we not appreciate all the good things that Strachan delivered during his managerialship ? Or is just that Rangers have improved dramatically and we have regressed ?

I more than appreciated Strachan when he was here, one of our greatest managers in my opinion.

Boring football but we got the job done.
He doesn't get enough recognition IMO.

Never liked Strachan and never liked Mowbray. I was against both the appointments. However, Strachan won me over briefly… and then lost me.

I never wanted to give Mowbray a chance though, I just couldn’t’ stand the sight of him. Why we ever thought it would be a good idea to appoint the moron, who finished last in the EPL, was beyond me.

Whilst I don’t really hold Strachan in the same esteem as MON, I am thankful for the success he brought to the Club.

He was appreciated but the only reason he wasn't loved like the other great managers was because of his comments when he arrived. I remember him making some comments about not wearing the scarf and comments similar. The success he brought the club was incredible and he is one of the best Celtic managers.

Strachan's job was to deliver success and he certainly did that, the football wasn't always pretty on the eye but they don't hand out trophies for attractive play.

The huns have won the last 3

1 ........We only had to win our last 2 games to clinch 4iar but we couldn't do it

2.........Mogga was a disaster

3.........Again we threw it away, the players bottled it at ICT

i think it is becoz MON won 3 titles against a fairly strong rangers team where as strachan's first 2 titles if were honest were basically giving to him.

I never enjoyed his time here really, we were successful but that was it. He had a good first season were we played well and then it got worse and worse and worse although we kept winning but it wasnt the best.

Dont know how to sum it up really, we done well but it wasnt the Celtic way.

This is true but Strachan won his first to a team O'Neill failed against.

Favourite years of my Celtic supporting life under WGS:50: Beating teams like Man Utd is hard to match up to.

If I'm being honest I probably didn't appreciate all the trophies Gordon Strachan delivered but that was because the football was so * * to watch. I accept that there are some people who don't care how * the football is to watch as long as Celtic win. But that doesn't cut it for me. One of the reasons I started supporting Celtic in the first place is the tradition this club has for playing attractive, attacking football. The football being entertaining to watch is very important to me.

Gordon Strachan never cut it in that department and that is the main reason why I never really took to him. By the end of his time at Celtic I actually disliked him.

It's a myth that Strachan's teams played * football, bar the second half of his last season.

I never had a problem with him, the media completely over exaggerated the whole<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
“He’s not celtic minded" thing. The problem he had was that he had taken over from a man that was absolutely idolised and brought continuous success for the first time in nearly two decades.

I think it's exaggerated how bad the football was during Strachan's time at Celtic. It's a opinion that's peddled mainly by people who just didn't like him for one reason or another.

The success he brought to the club isn't appreciated enough.

Sorry Minters but I strongly disagree with you here.

I think the football was pretty good in Strachan's first season in charge but it was increasingly brutal as each season went by after that.

I lost count of the number of times I came out the pub having watched us win but not having enjoyed watching the game at all. I thought the entertainment value was way below standard.

Neil Lennon has us playing better football than Strachan did in seasons 2,3 and 4.

I think Strachan tried to play good football, But at the end of the day he realised that results were the most important thing.

You could say the same thing about O'Neils team in his final season.

Yeah I accept that mate. The football was pretty eye watering in Martin O'Neill's last season.
