We have know got some players in and i dont think strachan is finished yet, know i personally feel we will start to see the best in the players that havent reached the heights of expectancy.
The fight is know on for first team places and that can only be good for celtic and the players .
The manager in my view has done really well in the structure of the team in solving some of the problem areas within the team ,and probaly for the first time in his 3 year reighn he has given himself a good problem in picking what his best team is .
I think some players at the club have had an easy ride regarding the lack of quality back-up coming in to challenge for places, know strachan is building a team of strength in most positions this can only be good for celtic .
Gordon Stachan in my view is doing a great job for celtic ,and i for one hope he continues for the foreseable future ,yes i know these players havent played a part yet but i do like what he is doing ,and with players like caddis ,mizuno, hutch ,also there its going to be a very strong team .
The future is ORANGE ,its not its celtic in my eyes

Our squad is shaping up nicely, a left back is required but i think we've pretty much got 2 players for every other position!

defo a left-back hammer ,and i think you will see one coming in.
know my only worry is and you know what certain players can be like is,that if strachan drops that player ,then a huff ,then im out of here scenario ,probaly will happen some-were along the line but * happens:50:

That'll be why he's extending Caldwell's contract and stated Loovens is here to be moulded over time.

It's also another good reason for bringing back Shaun Maloney, if he doesn't get a regular game every week i doubt you'll see him having the audacity to chap the managers door.

He's displaying spot on man-management skills just now is Strachan.

With our curreent squad i am very fearful. I was expecting some very good signings in this summer but the just have not happened at all. Paddy McCourt, Where did we find this guy, Doon Parkhead bru? Samaras i think we shoulkd have singed a better quality attacker than this guy. Crosas, Could this be another Rafeal again, Strachan has even looked at this lad But i hope he is one for the future. Loovens, Ok only 24 but looked where he came from, Cardiff City. Will these guys be good enough for the Champions League and help take us into the next level? I fear not.

Cup half empty post that one.

You may very well be right but McCourt and Crosas haven't played for Celtic yet so no one person can really comment!

Hence why i didn't comment on the guy. But It is kind of reckless buying without seeing the player first. I realy do hope that Crosas turns out to be a right find i relaly do. But look at the current squad to what we have had over the past 5 - 6 years player wise and type of player we have had. I just don't think the current squad will take us onto the next level.

Spot on kennydal :) The squad is lookin good and the bhoys who are on the fringes will play a big part in the celtic story for years to come. Although we do a LB and another striker then we will be the finished article! Keep up the good work WGS!

I don't know about that. I mean, in the past 2 years we've had to use some players in the CL due to lack of depth that would be hard pressed to get a game in the reserves at this point.
But now we're starting to build a much more solid depth. I rate Samaras a lot higher than Killen, Maloney/Naka/McGeady is massive, we look to have 3 good young CBs instead of 2 + a veteran on his last legs (no offense to Bobo or Pressley), we're loaded at RB, our CM situation is starting to look really deep if Crosas is no bad or Donati decides to step up. Only real complaint I have is LB... and I may riot if we don't bring one in before the window shuts.
I don't really get complaining over McCourt -- we picked him up for cheap and he could add some solid quality off the bench or if we've got some knocks. Worst situation we probably run him out a few games and sell him on for a tidy profit in a year or two.

I tend to look at this with a half-full view... but I look at the squad we've assembled so far, and I think we've got better players and better depth than we had the last 2 years for CL. In addition to which I think we've got more options with formations, and a lot of good competition for positions if WGS doesn't play favorites too much.

hammer hit it on the head when he said about the left back position ,we need another in asap ,im not sre what is happening with lee naylor ,is strachan going to move him on ,if a left back is brought in ? personally i would keep him ,great first season ,not to hot last, but you dont become a bad player overnight ,

maybe naylor has been carrying an injury or is he unsettled here in scotland ,i would like a good look at this guy crossas to see what he is about ,he has came with a reputation but we mustnt judge the guy on 5-6 games let him settle and see what he can do .

up front is a hard one to judge i think what do yous think

the players we signed mccourt included have to be give a chance to show what they can do and we should trust the coaching staff in that they spotted something in these players and that when they get a chance they will shine . who was lubo ? who was henke ? who was bobo ? the list goes on . tommy g was a well known name as was juninho and neither worke out . My point is whether you ahve heard of them or not makes no difference to their quality or what they bring to our team

Reserve league will be a breeze this year with all the new additions, i fear if we get a * draw in the champs lg we will struggle big time, look at the last few years ,if we're being honest we were really lucky to get out of the group stages, if it wasn't for artur we would only have won one game really, hopefully i will be proved wrong!!

sorry mate have to disagree with you on that one ,ellboy has a thread going on formations ,have a look, you might see it a bit different ,just with the players he has bought and the possibility of more ,i think this could be the strongest team weve had in a while , :50:

i think maloney should be given a second chance, he messed up but he knows where he had it good and he's back to show what he's learned and get a game. Will he get a game? Who knows what WGS has going on in his head....

I'm not convinced. We were pretty poor for a good part of last season. We havnt signed anyone who Strachan is going to give an automatic start to, just squad players really.

Without doubt need a full back and a really good striker for us to win 4 in a row. JVOH, Samaras and Mcdonald is pretty weak for a full campaign imo. Especially if Mcdonald goes off the boil.
