Should we be looking to appoint a new captain? I think we do as Broony, as much as we all love him, is not as dependable as he used to be. I would suggest that we need to be appointing a young, hungry player who, like Broony, wants to give everything for the shirt but, unlike Broony, is able to do so consistently.:shamrock:

Also who would be your vice captains?

I'd not strip Brown of the captaincy, I think that would be hasty. At least until we see him under new management.

However Sviatchenko would be my captain for whenever he is out the side. That could be quite a bit as I believe Brown needs to play less games next season.

Sviatchenko and Broony as vice captain, unless he is still deteriorating with age in to next season, then I'd like a new player to take it up who the manager signs..

Broony should be off it regardless and rested untill he recaptures some form. Having the armband can't be helping him just now..

I would defos go with Sviatchenko. Conducts himself both on and off the field like a captain. Looks a real leader, rather than a headless chicken who was to fight with everybody.

I get what you mean but I think it should be a meritocracy and I think it's fair to say that apart from a few games here and there, Broony hasn't been at it all season.

Agreed. Sviatchenko all day for me. Also think that, maybe, Simunovic could be captain material, one of a few vice captains as well.

Sviatchenko without doubt. He's a natural born leader.

One bad season doesnt mean that Brown should be stripped of the captaincy that would be hasty and premature. Sviatchenko will probably get vice captaincy if Mulgrew goes but Brown will have a full pre season under a new boss and I expect him to be back to his best next season.

Brown stays captain for me, for now at least. He should be rested more though, and when he is Sviatchenko should be givem the arm-band. As others have said, he's a natural leader.

I honestly don't think guys like Brown, Lustig, Commons, Bitton and Johansen have just become bad players overnight. They've just had a pretty poor season collectively as a result of the management situation. With that changing I'm confident we'll see a big improvement.

He's not even had a full bad season, he was playing well before his injury.

    Ffs people have short memories.

Possibly the new guy that is coming in Ajer but not sure what he is like.

He is current captian at his club and is only 17 so must have a commanding presence however feel we need someone who has played at champions league/european experience and in particular rangers as no one showed up for cup final. However if a plyer has heart and soul they can learn very quickly.

Brown has failed to get us playing in europe, against aberdeen, rangers and even at international level for Scotland against Georgia

I expect brown to be captin but feel eric has showed more than enough and should be vice captain and potential future captain

Seems a bit odd suggesting a 17 year old to captain the team:smiley-laughing002:

No chance we're signing a 17 year old kid and making him captain.

Ajer is a good shout actually (forgot about him!). He could deffo be good for a vice captaincy, like third down the pecking order so to speak.

He might come in and do really well though and if he does I'd deffo make him a vice captain. Not the main one but certainly we should be encouraging that kind of player that leads by example. :50:

Broony should still be captain with both Sviatchenko and Ajer as VC Mulgrew or Tierney as well as VC can never have to many leaders

I think it's important for a captain to be a cool head and intelligent too. Broony can seem to shift between reading the game and doing well in one game to making terrible passes and relying on brute force, so to speak, in others. Which ultimately isn't good for the teams overall consistency.

Can't believe Ajer is even being mentioned:56:

He's captained them once or twice, don't think he is the permanent one. If Brown is being replaced it's Sviatchenko, hands down.

Mulgrew deserves his chance as captain. Failing that it would be Sviatchenko or Tierney (only young but he has shown so much fight and passion that I think he could be potential captain matieral
