Gordon Strachan is staying at Celtic after a third straight SPL triumph and will be handed £20 to spend in the summer.(Daily Mirror).

    Surely a typo! :56:

I think we should spend around £5m on dunne cb
another £5m+ midfielder, £7m for robbie keane or someone similar

then use the rest for squad players and a new LB

The best part about our budget compared to last year is we know we're back in the Champions League and thus spend that money in the summer without it being a gamble.

Thats a huge factor and the players we are trying to woo will be attracted to that prospect and when they see Lennoxtown, they'll snap the contract out of GS's hand

£20million is a great transfer budget for someone outside the EPL. I mean if Ronaldinho is going at around £10million(not saying we will go for him) then we should be able to get some top quality players.

We seem to get annoyed at the amount of cash the EPL get to spend, but if you actually look at the rest of europe, we are not that bad off.

Unless your talking about Real, Barca, Bayern, Inter, AC etc. then no clubs in europe really have massive budgets.

We just have to listen to all this pish about how much they get down there and get the feeling that this is the norm in football.

if its true about the £20m transfer kitty, i'd expect us to seriously challenge for the last 8 of the CL, even the last 4.

The trouble is, we have a rigid wage structure, so even if we have £20M to spend, were not going to go for Ronaldihnos of this world. I think we'll top out at £6M on one player, £7M if it's a bargain buy (e.g, Robbie Keane, etc).
