Let's try, for once, to have a sensible, constructive debate on this. Has he taken the team as far as he can ? Should he be given another crack of the whip ? Does he deserve the bullet if he loses one league out of four ?

I'm 100% behind him, so he deserves to stay at least 'till January.

I'm getting a wee bit fed up with him now to be honest. He's done well, maybe it's time for us to move (up hopefully) to the next level now with somebody else. :50:

yeah mate i think he deserves another year! i think it would be very rotton if we got rid of him we need to show some loyalty with him here.
and if its more or less the same next season then yes! we will need a change.

    Stick.

Do we seriously expect to win a 2 team league every season from now until forever?

A manager who has a 100% SPL record in his 3 seasons in charge deserves another chance if we lose it this year.

Deserves at least another year of course but if I were him I'd walk.

I like Strachan and he's done alot for this club but i personally think he's taken us as far as he can.
Im not saying he deserves the boot but our football has been in decline for a while now, i just feel we need someone new to freshen things up a bit.

Waiting till january isnt the right thing to do either cause if we're behind it would just make things worse for us and we'd find ourselves losing out on 5 in a row or not winning the league for 2 seasons.

I dont dislike him at all, but i think its time for him to go.

He HAS taken the team as far as he can go, and i dont see things changing much as long as he stays.

We dont play well enough, its slow, predictable and largely speaking its quite easy to defend against. Things have gone stale.

And the thing that swings it is, if we have money i dont trust him to spend it wisely.

I don't believe he has taken us as far as he can. Realistically, we should be looking to win the league and anything in Europe is a bonus. Yesterday was incredibly disappointing and I believe we lost because Strachan played Crosas and Hartley in the middle. But Brown was suspended and Robson wasn't fit enough. We may have thrown the league away this season. If he makes the correct signings over the summer and gets rid of a few players (I know there's no guarentee that will happen) then I believe we'll be in a more comfortable position next season. While I'm aware that he has his flaws, I don't believe that we could get someone better to replace him. People have mentioned David Moyes but I don't think he'd come to Celtic at the moment. I wouldn't want Mowbray in. Levein is a possibility but I would like him to have a few years more experience before he managed Celtic.

Even if we don't win the league, I believe he should be here next season. He's building a decent team (with the potential to become a good team) and I only wish that he was given a bigger budget in which to improve it. With a bigger budget, he could take us further. But I'm not sure if he (or any other manager that comes in) would be given a bigger transfer budget. He has also won us at least one trophy every season he has been here. We already know that Strachan is capable of bringing us success. That's why I think he should stay.

Things arent going to change for the next manager and neither GS or the next guy will allowed near the financial side of things.

This new manager and everything changing for the better instantly is a white elephant

Do you not feel our team is going backwards ?

Are there question marks over his ability to motivate the team ?

Yeah im aware of that, but i dont really have confidence in what Strachan does anymore.

Whether it be signings, tactics, team selections etc.

I cant watch the same old mistakes for another year.

Zonal marking failure, Crossing to back post when all players go to front post, 1-2s goin horribly wrong, reading ten minutes worth of notes to a sub coming on for 5 minutes, confusing unjustified team selections for big away games, the manger telling me it all went OK when I watched the game and it clearly didnt.

Just a few examples of whats been going on since the 2nd season, I dont trust gord with money anymore and I dont really trust him with the players he has anymore.

We got very lucky last season against the anti-football mob because Brown got suspended and he HAD to pick Robson, this year we could have wrapped the league up by Feb but we threw away points home and away and now face the very real prospect of Rangers cutting a huge chunk of their debt because we have not done our job correctly.

I think he should go, regardless of who wins the league.
