Due to the international break, we have an eleven day wait until this fixture, but with the new players being signed up, I'm excited to see us, already.

Solid defender added, hopefully, plus some fresh faces in attack. It's good to be in green and white. :celt_2:

Who will we have back available for this one? With the Benfica game a few days after, should we prioritise that match, and field a 'B' side?

No, we should field our strongest team. I'm sick of this idea that we can beat anyone with any team and we can afford to drop points, we can't! Before you know it we'll be 10 points behind. Our strongest 11 for this game.

I would start Miku and Hooper upfront, Ambrose at the back with Mulgrew:50:
Bring Lassad on at half time so we can see him aswell:icon_mrgreen:

    Forster
    Lustig Ambrose Mulgrew Izzi
    Forrest Wanyama Ledley Commons
    Miku Hooper

Not sure if all of our new signings will be involved in international matches or not, but I'd go for an expiremental side like this:

    Forster

    Matthews, Lustig, K.Wilson, Mulgrew

    Ambrose
    Brown, Commons

    Miku
    Hooper, Lassad

Rest/omit: Rogne (injury-prone), Wanyama (lotta travelling), Izaguirre (same), Kayal (injured?), Ledley (injured?), Stokes (injured).

Neither Brown or Commons have been picked for Scotland, so they could use the game.

Give all the new Bhoys a run out and see how they do along with some youth and a couple first team players such as Forster, Mulgrew, Izzy, Matthews and Wanyama. Hooper and Watt on the bench or start but switch with the new strikers around the usual 60th minute as I don't see Lennon doing it at half time. :smiley-laughing002:

I would field the same team for Benfica. It's the only competitive match post-transfer window before CL, which * me off at the international break, but every team has to deal with it. We need to get the most outta this fixture, which to me means all or most of the side to play Benfica.

Would include Miku to see how sharp he is, plus cuz think we should be playing two strikers at home in Europe (and rather see Watt off the bench).

Little more weary about rolling the dice on a centre back for such a big game. Is it realistic for Ambrose to slot in so soon? Figure a CB pairing takes longer to gel.

Just simmer down to a whirlwind, mate. :smiley-laughing002: We still have a enough quality to win league matches when resting a few players. Seems to have been mass hysteria since the DRAW against Hibs. European games take priority... We're 2nd in the league with a game in hand, it's not as if we're fighting relegation.

I'll wait and see whether the fecking International break result in numerous injuries, or not. Hopefully the latter. Lennon comments today regarding the lack of prep time with new signings tells its own story.

Field a B-team, plus any players who need a bit of match sharpness before the Benfica game.

We'll beat St Johnstone anyhow, and even if we don't that's fine too. It's all about the CL. :50:

We also drew with Ross County. How many of these games can we afford to not win? Before we know it Hearts or Dundee unt will be 10 points ahead of us.

If anyone is suffering from any niggles then give them a rest, otherwise the same side that will play against Benfica and make sure to give all the new lads a run out. If we get the game won early on we can give some first teamers a rest in time for the CL. Ignoring any possible injuries my team would be:

    --------------Forster-----------
    Matthews--Rogne-Mulgrew--Izzy
    -------------Wanyama----------
    ----------Kayal---Ledley--------
    Commons-----------------Sammy
    --------------Hooper------------

Of course, Broony will be included so take out either Kayal or Ledley for him. Miku, Ambrose and Lassad hopefully get a run out at some stage, too.

No. They really won't. Even had you stuck with DUtd it would have seemed a tad silly. Hearts?!

We are averaging 2 points per game, and that will improve to at least 2.25 if we are being realistic (in fact, that potentially does us a disservice.)

Looking at our injury list (Lennoxtown conspiracy theory) with players to return, and additions made in transfer window, it is sheer lunacy to say the likes of Hearts will be able to compete over the period of a season.

As per the norm, silly season starts early. Christ almighty.
