With the recent signing of Keano, how the * do we fit him in with the rest of the team??

    Boruc

    Telfer/Agathe
    McManus
    Balde
    Wallace/Camara

    McGeady
    Lennon
    Keane
    Petrov
    Naka

    Sutton/Hartson/Majic/Maloney

I honestly haven't got a clue. I'm certain Strachan won't upset the defence by making it 3 it the back. Lennon won't be dropped for Keane and we need wide players on the park. And Strachan usually goes with two up front - but who will he pick? And going for two means someone will have to drop out of midfield. He may play Petrov on the right and Naka on the left and leave out McGeady. But he still has a dilema for who to play up front.

One thing for sure though, if we can improve on our defence in time for next year's Champions League, we will be a force to be reckoned with. I can't wait!!!:50: :84:

I suppose GS will know from training, injuries & suspensions could dictate the answer.

I think we need Mark Wilson/Stephen Kelly, Kevin McNaughton/Paul Konchesky & Robbie Keane. They could all be realistic targets for us and I think they could add the required depth.

I dont think Keane should be played at CB because we have Virgo & Du Wei for there. We need quality central midfielders and he fits that description

its too hard to choose a starting 11 now they might play 3-5-2

The formation wont change, GS has been working hard on his 4-4-2 with the players, it would be very foolish to try and adapt to a 3-5-2 midseason

Starting eleven changes every week, because of injuries and suspension. We just signed a great player who will add to the squad in every area, training playing, mentality, and commercially. Depth and quality of squad is what WGS is working on, and this signing adds greatly to the squad.

GS will keep the 4-4-2 formation.. why change, its working to great effect. Theres no chance Lennon will be dropped...the only soultion to fit Keane in is to drop McGeady from the midfield and put Petrov and Naka on the wings. Its a pity if this happens as its dropping a in form player to the bench.

On the flip side though im beginning to think we can mount a serious challange in Europe in the coming seasons :50: Only if we keep with the current form / signings / confidence and so on :celt_2:

Same as last time, Keane hasn't done anything to merit a place yet.

Is there no African Nations Cup somewhere round the start of next year?? I think we will be missing Balde, which gives us an extra space for Keano, you can't go with a starting eleven, as "Renegade T" said, its a squad team, so I would play something like (Having in mind that I would need to change it depending on the match and the opponents)

    Goal Keeper : Boruc

Defence: Initially - Camara, McManus and Kennedy. (Make Virgo, Varga and Telfer fight for a space and play them from time to time.)

In Between: Lennon and Keane, Put Keane on defence and Lennon on midfield, but make sure they play together and swap places depending on how the match is going).

Midfield: Naka and Petrov (both wide players)

Up Front: Beattie, Hartson, Maloney, McGueady, Sutton, Wallace and Magic (Obviously you can't play all of them at the time, choose two every week, and make all of them fight for a place, I would update the Up Front on my starting 11 depending on how training goes).

There is a lot of players that would still make it, and I would constantly be changing my team.

Subs - Marshall, Balde, Du Wei, Agathe, Sutton, Beattie, Hartson

Imo we cani play Stan out wide, he's never in a million years a winger, and he's so effective playin through the centre. Would play Keane at centre half, but way Lenny helping him when we're under pressure and when we're going forward, move Keane up too midfield and Lenny back to defence. don't think we can automatically drop any centre mids based on there performance's as of late but if Lennon doesn't keep it up then a'd simply bring Keane up in the middle of the park and play Bobo at centre half way Lennon on the bench.

Imo we shouldn't change our formation as we've played well with the 442 and it's needless to change it due to one (very talented he may be) player.
