Don't know if this is the right place to post.

What are the chances of sion winning there appeal and getting back in??

Apparently they are going to "attack" uefa and win there appeal!

I know it's highly doubtful, but I'm planning on booking the Rennes flights and i don't want to waste my money of they get back in.

    Your thoughts?

There * ,,UEFA have made there decision and they won't back down ,they have seen both sides of this story so what have Sion left to offer UEFA to change there minds ? Nothing.

There is zero chance. Their madcap chairman is wasting his time.

There is absolutely NO WAY that they would kick them out only to bring them back mate. We are in, the cheats are out :50:

None. Uefa would know the likelihood of an appeal being successful and probably factored it in before making today's decision.

They know themselves that it would be a bit of a mess if they had to change the group again. People need to book flights and the games are just a couple of weeks away.

Appeal at UEFA: No chance at all.
Civil Court: We'll see what they decide. If they hand out superprovisional measures, UEFA are in big trouble.

    Google Translation:

FC Sion will not be long to respond to his exclusion from the Europa League. After the decision of UEFA to transform the two matches against FC Sion Glasgow Celtic 3-0 in the package, the club will enter Valais Civil Justice on Monday. FC Sion UEFA will attack for abuse of dominant position.

Friday night, UEFA took less than an hour to decide to turn into defeat by forfeit both matches that allowed FC Sion to qualify for the group stage of the Europa League. The European body accuses the club of Valais fielding players who were not allowed to play by a previous decision of FIFA. Thus, UEFA are right to Glasgow Celtic who had filed the protest after the double confrontation.

FC Sion now intends to respond to this decision and will enter the civil justice system. A complaint will be filed Monday and UEFA who accused the club Sion to exercise an abuse of dominant position. At issue in particular, that the body located in Switzerland does not respect the judge's decision to allow Nicolas Biner with immediate effect six players concerned to exercise their profession. A fight that will be conducted as a civil time limits set by UEFA for use are too long and would not allow the FC Sion to get a response before Sept. 15, when the first game hens of the Europa League. By that time, FC Sion hopes to get super-provisional measures.

FIFA will allow them to appeal to the Court of Sports Arbitration. If they lose and take UEFA to court, there is a good chance they will be kicked out if the organisation without recourse.

Not a chance i think. Uefa made a desicion and they would look like a bunch of idiots if they turn this back. They will never let this happen.

You can appeal to the Court Arbitration of Sports. And in their rules it is stated that you can request provisional measures from state authorities.

In the swiss league, this happened to them before because they played 5 players NOT registered into the league, and they were to be fined and points were to be deducted.

and there chairman, multi multi-millionaire, took the swiss fa to court, appealed, and won the case!

this is what worries me, and can worry us

Yeah, but FIFA/ UEFAs rules allow for the appeal to CAS, but if a member club doesnt accept it and takes it to a civil court, they can be kicked out of FIFA/UEFA as per their member rules.

So if they lose their CAS case, they will effectively be screwed as FIFA will just get rid of them and carry on regardless. A civil court will not entertain them after this. FIFA are too powerful.

Pal, I´m sure YOU´RE WELL AWARE this more than probably won´t change anything for EL this season! If there´s a(nother) turnaround on this case, this will be issued well after the start of EL group stage!

So, IF that might happen, you might get a compensation (which I doubt although I can defo see your view: U know it...).

BUT this just doesn´t affect Celtic at all!!

Although I honestly DO feel sorry for YOU, Fans & Team, there was an official FIFA transfer embargo in place, so end of day this verdict was only JUSTICE!

Anyway, I wish ya All the Best domestically though!!

    Hail! Hail!

Put it this way; what has the swiss civil court got to do with the game at celtic park in scotland.......answer ; * all. You fielded illegal players in a euro match not a swiss domestic game. You dont want celtic taking uefa to the courts in scotland. This would go round in circles. Your courts cannot expect to be something special in europe. Giving swiss teams the luxury of doing, signing, playing whom you want.

    Think about it !
    Except it !
    Your club cheated !
You cant call foul when it goes against you when you cheat !

EXCEPT YOUR RESPONSIBILTY IN THIS FIASCO AND BLAME YOU CHAIRMAN

We already got reinstated in the Swiss 2nd division in November 2003 when already 11 games had been played. :icon_mrgreen: So... never say never.

But of course... Sion's chances to play in Madrid are like 0,001% and I am absolutely aware of this. We'd rather get compensation from UEFA later on, because still neither the CAS nor a court decided whether we actually cheated or not. And I am also aware of the fact that, despite FIFA and UEFA being a * mafia, our chairman is an idiot.

Alright then, good luck to you guys again (you need a lot of it in that group with that squad you got). That was it for me in this forum so far. I'll be back if there is news on the case.
