He has clearly not settled in Russia and wants to move elsewhere. I read that he'd like to try the premiership, but wouldnt rule out spain, italy germany or france (i think that was the nations he mentioned). I dont know if he thinks he's bigger and better than he actually is, and i have a niggling feeling that his £1m+ move abroud has left him a bit big-headed. But the boy is a good player, and bringing him to Celtic Park imo would not be the worst move we've ever made.

    Any thoughts?

Keep away from O'Connor. if Riordan can't crack it here and he is far better than O'Connor then it's another * sitting on our bench.

He also comes with baggage, if he walks away from the Scotland Squad in thier finest hour in recent history then what the heck does he have going through his head.

I reckon Craig Beattie is a far better bet and he is tried and tested here

I dont think he's better than what we currently have so no.

Is a footballer not allowed to have personal problems?

O'Connor's a NO NO for me!
We already have far better quality than him in Riordan....who cant even get a game!!
Keep the cash & go for a decent defender sounds better to me!

I think Gary O'Connor is a very good player. But I don't think we need him. With VOH, Beattie, Zurawski and Miller up front as well as Maloney and Riordan capable of playing up top we are not short there at all. So I would say no more from the standpoint he doesn't offer anything up front we don't already have and we have plenty of cover there already as well.

hes not bad but he wouldnt make our team, would also be a slap in the face to riordan and i really want him to get a chance soon.

U21 squad is big enough, we don't need to add to it.

Hey I'm not knocking the personal issue but he didnt even contact anyone to say he wasnt going to be there. He just didnt turn up, now if he had been like our wee legend out on a boat in largs without a paddle then you could forgive him but not turning up and not contacting the gaffer is just not on,

thankfully he is a squad player and not a certain start like wee Kenny M :87:
