I really wasn't sure where to put this so I put it in the Chat, Feel free to move it if it shouldn't be here.

Right watching the Rugby over the Weekend made me think. Should Video Technology be brought into football? Just like in Rugby with the Tries etc.

    What are your thoughts?

yes its been successful in my opinion in American sports. Hockey and football both use it and its not allowed for referees to interfere as much or stupid or bad, or missed calls. :50:

Yeah and I think it's rediculous the way Managers blame Referees for loss's when their team have lost by like 4 Goals.

And the Prime example is Neil Warnock at the Weekend about Sheffield United against Liverpool. He said something like,
"Liverpool knew who the Referee was so they tried to get pentalys"

If celtic had to get all the penalty decisions the discussion in the dressing room would be:

wgs: Right who wants to take the penaltys today

    Miller: I can't be bother

Lennon: I already have 10 goals this season

    Telfer: Am off to barca

it would be good as long as it did not slow the game down too much, but it would improve the game, since we would have less dodgy referreeing decisions.

only for goal line and offisde-leading to a goal decisions. anymore and it would ruin the banter after games, imo alot of what makes football great is debating things like decisions

Dont really like it, it'll slow it down too much and the momentum lost. And when you mention hockey and american fotball, those are slow as * from it.

    Exactly my thoughts.

To the point "it would improve the game": I think referees with way too many mistakes all the time should be sacked anyway.

i think football should take a hint from rugby ie like when a player dives stop the time , and the use off video technology

are you kidding me? reviews have nothing to do with the speed of both american football and hockey. There are always less than 2 reviews a game in football(by rule you can only have 2 and hardly ever.. do they go pass it. Plus its mostly for possession and catching a pass which wouldnt make a difference in soccer) and hockey your lucky once every 2-3 weeks.

NAH:38: being human means making mistakes and if we couldnt blame the ref no more it be boring... adds 2 the appeal of football imo...makes u mad or makes u laugh:50:

Soccer isnt a start/stop game like American Football, Ice Hockey or Rugby. It would slow down the game too much.

One rule that should be taken from rugby is that only the captains are allowed to talk to the referee, it would stop him getting swarmed at every decision

    No chance

There will be decisions that even video can't decide and it will destroy the traditions of the game from grass root level

Mistakes are apart of the game

What i'm saying is football would be a very very boring game if the best team won all the time

Plus mistakes ARE apart of our game without them you would stop all football banter imo
