Just wanted to get the consensus opinion.

Not just judging on that terrible miss at the end of the game, should he be dropped? With the arrival of Griffiths, we now have Stokes, Pukki, Balde and Griffiths competing for the forward roles, plus Commons, Sammy, Forrest and Borreigter also looking to play in attacking positions. Would you drop him to make room for other players now?

    Yes.

At the end of the day, he's a striker who isn't scoring goals on a regular basis. Couldn't give a * about his link up play, that's not what he's there for.

On his Celtic career he doesn't deserve to be dropped.

On his season to date, he does deserve it.

On the last few games before today he doesn't deserve it.

On today's showing, especially second half, yes.

football is a rollercoaster, who'd a thunk it?

    Samaras is off. (nearly)
    Pukki is mince.
Stokes was bad today but usually puts in a shift, I wouldn't drop him as much as try and wean him out of the team for Balde.

Stokes on form is still our best striker by a country mile. Yes fair enough he was poor today and will probably be dropped next fixture but some of the stick he's getting is out of order.

I do like stokes but hes just not scoring so yes. Griffiths has got to start next week and if he gets off to a flier then stokes might struggle to get back in

    That's a fair assessment I think.

In the search for a consistent supply of goals, then without doubt yes for me. And to be honest with you I reckon a lot of people will (sooner than I initially expected) be pretty delighted Griffiths has signed.

On his day, Stokes can be superb.....but it's a bit of a case of Samaras this season to be honest. Overall has disappointed this term, and for me is seen personally as a very valuable squad player / option who shouldn't be getting a starting slot with what we have available.

yeah if commons wasnt having the season he is stokes would be hounded with his lack of goals he should have passed at the end to always been a fan but hes frustrated me this season and i hoped he would have thrived on being the main man doesnt seem to be happening

Agreed. I'd give Balde, then Griffiths a run out in the next couple of games, though. Stokes has profited from time out of the side before. And I'm sure with the benefit of a rest, he'll come back and show everyone his talent.

    No.
he should be played alongside a penalty box striker.
    thats were his value is.
I was * at him today for not passing the ball to Derk, but his work rate and skill are high quality.
he should not have been expected to replace Hooper, he isn't that type of player.

NO. Stokes is a link up striker, him and Griffiths will be perfect together and we will hammer the sheep next week.

Doesn't look like an excuse to me. He didn't know Derk was square and he * up the shot.

They pretty much got in each others way when Stokes got the ball, of course he knew Derk was with him.

Aye, Stokes has a history of passing the ball to players in better positions than himself, rather than being greedy
