We shut then because if we opened into September Sevco could sign players.

u think were gonna get anyone else? Apart from the 3 were trying to get? Club always says we like to come out stronger than we went in.

To be honest, while it's less time to get more players in, the sooner the transfer window shuts, the less likely I'll go grey at 19. Roll on Sunday morning when we have our squad, and that's that.

i dnt think that biton or pukki are ready just to walk into the celtic team just now as lennon said about biton and pukki they will have to play really good to get into this side, reading between the lines i think he wants better players ready to go into the first team.

u think its anything to do with the zombies? Do they not have a transfer ban that's up in a day or 2 ? That or their players can't play untill then. I read somewhere saying something like that.

hopefully we get finbo in. That would make the fans extatic !! Surely these 3 players aren't the last to come in.

Not too sure, but saying that you'd have thought the SPFA would have extended it then to help out "The Rangers"

Nonetheless, I just hope we sneak in a goal scorer before the window closes.

Scottish FA set Saturday transfer deadline against UEFA recommendation

    29 August 2013 20:35 BST

Scotland will close its transfer window two days before the majority of other European nations despite a recommendation from UEFA to extend it.
The registration deadline for Scottish clubs ends at 11pm on Saturday night, two days before England and several other European countries.
That has led to a complaint by St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright, who says his club may fail in a bid to add a player from the English Premier League on loan because of the decision.
STV has learned UEFA wrote to every association wanting them to extend the deadline until Monday, September 2. They did however give the Scottish FA and others the power, if they wished, to bring the date forward.
They told STV: "UEFA issued a recommendation earlier this year where the UEFA Executive Committee asked its member associations and their affiliated leagues to comply with August 31 at 24:00 CET as the end date and time for the summer registration period.
"However in the case that the August 31 is on a Saturday or a Sunday as it is this year, the above-mentioned deadline is moved to the first working day after August 31. Therefore this year the advised deadline is September 2, 24:00 CET.
"In case a national association wishes to, it may close the registration period before, but not after, the stipulated date."
In response, the Scottish FA said: "Saturday is a normal working day for us." They declined to answer any other direct questions on why they had gone against UEFA's advice, whether they had consulted with clubs before setting the deadline and how they had arrived at the decision.
STV understands clubs were advised of the deadline earlier this year. The Scottish FA declined to confirm whether any complaints had been raised by its members.
If the Scottish FA had followed the recommendation, it would have impacted upon a registration embargo placed upon Rangers in the summer of 2012 when the governing body agreed to transfer the club's membership between two different companies.
The wording of the ruling, which formed part of the Five Way Agreement, stated the embargo would "end on August 31, 2013."
FIFA also confirmed that each member association is entitled to close the window when it sees fit, saying: "It is for each member association to take the relevant decision."
St Johnstone manager Wright aired his unhappiness at the situation on Thursday, saying the situation could prevent him from bringing in a young player from the English Premier League because of the difference in dates.
He told the Daily Record: "I'd like to get one in on loan but there could be a wee difficulty.
"He needs to play for his club on Monday and if they still need him, that would rule us out because our window bizarrely shuts at 11pm on Saturday and the English Premier League one stays open.
"I'm hoping to persuade the club that we can get him before our window shuts."
Aberdeen, Dundee, Hibernian, St Johnstone and St Mirren all recruited players on loan from English clubs on the final day of the January transfer window.
The last time a transfer deadline fell on a weekend day was in January 2010. The window was due to close on a Sunday, deemed by the Scottish FA not to be a working day, and was moved to the Monday.
Previous to that, the winter deadline in 2009 was due to fall on Saturday, January 31. The window was extended until February 2.
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Holland, Russia and Ukraine will all close their windows on Monday, September 2.
The registration deadline in Poland, Portugal, Serbia and Switzerland will fall on the same day as Scotland.

That give us nothing but a disadvantage! horrible decision :38:

To stop the Huns making a farce of their transfer embargo, which ends on August 31st (and not the end of the set 'window', if moved)
