I'll admit last season, I was not his biggest fan, and questioned buying him.

He has put a few in this year already but I am just not convinced, I'll eat my words if I am wrong. He is quick, but a few of hig goals have been luck, bouncing off defender back to him for the shot, and I know you need luck, but I am just not sold yet.

We dont play balls through the middle for the front men to run onto, we play long balls or cross balls, that doesnt seem to be his game.

    Thoughts?

Not bad for a million quid...excellent 3rd option combined with Skippy and Venegoor in my opinion - popped up with a crucial goal against Dundee U last year too which kept our hopes alive. I'm a big fan - he infuriates sometimes, but is an excellent addition to the squad and is worth far more than we paid for him IMO.

i wasnt his biggest fan last year either but now he is my favourite player because he has been banging the goals in lately and we really need a striker that can do that ... he is also good in the air so in my opinion he is a steal from manchester city
i think the best striker since the larsson , sutton and hartson days

The only goal I'd say was lucky was the one against Rangers, I wouldn't say any of the others have been down to luck, for £1M to get 10goals in 10 starts is more than good enough for me.

I wasn't his biggest fan first time round either, he appeared a bit clumsy to me although in saying that he scored crucial goals at crucial times.

You can't complain with the return we've got off him since the deal's been made permanent though. Goals, running power, directness all superb. His hold up play is poor but he's not big Jan at the end of the day.

    * *, give him a break, he's doing the business. What do you want, 20 goals by now and all form 50 yards out into the top corner:87:

    Irvy excellent post ........

I said Ill eat my words and I'm not trying to be negative, I really like skippy he gives it all.

Hammer hit the nail on the head he seems clumsy, I hope I'm wrong and he scores many many more, if I had my choice he would not be on from the start if all were fit. Skippy and JVH are still my starting two, I have enjoyed watching JVH this year, he offers a lot, if not as many goals as the other two, he offers a player who can really hold up the ball, and as we play a lot of long balls he is the perfect front man....

Irvy, chill I'm not giving him abuse, I never said a bad word, are you telling me you blindly love every celtic player and you never say to yuorself, nah not for me I would like to see someone else, because if not your lieing, or your stupid.

All I'm saying is he isn't for me, I dont enjoy watching him play, if he continues to I will support him all I can, but this is a forum where fans go to chat, about celtic related issues, they don't all have to be love noted to the players.

Quite right pal - *, i've even been nice about Naylor this season....

You can't argue with what Samaras has done since he came to the club; banged in goals, came to the club accepting a wage cut, obviously loves the place, extremely keen to learn from what Strachan says.

And all for a million bucks...

I wasn't a big fan but I said he'd be better than signing no-one. He's turned out to be better than I thought and has been prolific in the SPL and stopped us playing the long ball by dropping into deeper positions.

The question now is how could can he get? I don't think he'll be good enough for the top level tbh. Hope I'm wrong of course.

Davey Bhoy, I find it interesting Caldwell Samaras and JVH all opting to stay put, JVH appeared to have an offer on the table and said he wanted to stay here. Caldwell wants the new contract, and samaras takes a pay cut, very promising.
