How popular is Rugby League in scotland?

Personally i think its a much better game thatn union and maybe even football. The thing i like about rugby is if a player gets a knock he gets up, has a swig of water and gets on with the game. The game doesnt even stop. If a footballer takes a knock they are rolling around the floor in "agony" and need lots of water, bandages, sprays plasters stiches and stretchers. Thats what annoys me about footy.

    Anyway, back to my question:

How popular is Rugby League in scotland?

If I'm honest, forgive the comparison, but as popular as the para's in West Belfast.

its up there with ballet dancing darts players mate.

its a shame, because i am switching over to the dark side from union, have only played one game though for the munich side i was at that was also the first domestic rugby league game in germany but i thought it was brilliant. compared to union, the fitness required is immense and i enjoy that it flows much more freely. its easy to see how union can take a lot from league in tackle lines and running moves too. even in germany the union board tried to shaft the RL from getting started, which makes me want to remove myself from union even more.

in scotland there is an extensive union setup amongst the unis, however there is only one RL uni side (napier in edinburgh) who play in the english north east division.

there are a few teams like glasgow bulls but i dont know much more. YT might be able to tell you more.

incidentally, scotland vs ireland in the euro nations cup is tomorrow at glasgow hawks ground in anniesland KO 2.30pm.

edit:i get emails from the scotland RL setup on a mailing list here is info on the coming game

Chrissy you're obviously an absolute lunatic for this statement. Football is far superior to egg chasing and anyone who disagrees needs a slap around the face with a wet trout!

    Begone with your nonsense.
