For once the panel of Giles/Brady/Dunphy gave Celtic due credit instead of the usual sneering. O'Herlihy treid to spoil it by banging on about how Barcelona are no good anymore but RTE did Celtic proud last night for once - and on the 125th Birthday it's never to late for RTE to get Celtic right..................still buzzing myself

Unfortunately, because of the digital switchover, we no longer get RTE in the North (through our Sky box) which is *!

I really wanted to hear the analysis.

Dunphy was gushing by the end, I thought he was going to cry at one point. Giles was good too and even at half time couldn't give Celtic's defending enough credit. Brady was good too tho I'm always amazed that his spell as Celtic Manager is never, ever referred to by him or anybody else.

Even the commentary was unusually good with Hamilton very impressed by the atmosphere and Ray Houghton sounding like he was going to explode with excitement and admiration for Celtic.

That's an unfortunate consequence of the digital switchover, RTE should be routinely available through Ireland's 32

Surely there's a way around the digital switch to access RTE in the North? Irish games won't be available to be watched now, either! And Dunphy and co. are always great entertainment for games.

He tends to direct the conversation in that fashion. It's worth a debate. You can see where they get their ammunition from.

    he was bumming around

basically his line was if Celtic can beat Barca then they aren't as good as everyone - including the panel - thought they were. they had been found out and were no longer entitled to be referred to as best team in world. That was what he said. In fairness neither of the 3 panelists were having any of it

So by that idiotic reasoning, if we get beat by Forfar in the Scottish Cup in the upcoming weeks then we're not as strong as we were and have had our day?

    * clown.

    I’m raging I couldn’t see it.

It’s not that RTE is blocked through Sky; we get RTE1 and RTE2 no problem. The difficultly is that, we can’t get the sport when it’s on. I have no idea why. If we’re watching RTE through Sky, everything is fine, but then, if a sports programme comes on, it says something about it being restricted.

Ah, sure that problem existed before the switch. It's just Sky not wanting you stealing any glimpses of the CL outwith their channels.

I have the full Sky Sports package though.

Makes no sense for them to block RTE on Champs League nights.

Try channel 800 on Freeview. Some tv's have the box already built into them so you'll get RTE 2 HD for the football for free.

I have never watched RTE but this this man obviously never watches Spanish Football. Barcelona have made their best ever start to La Liga winning 28 out of a possible 30 points.

That is what we were up against last night.

Bill O'Herlihy and the RTE panel are a bunch of west british arseholes who think football begins and ends in the english premier * league... they are generally a complete * embarrassment on all things concerning Celtic. They regularly screen matches involving epl teams... such as * chelsea of all teams.. ahead of matches involving Celtic. Sure they were impressed by Celtic last night but how could they not be!! They'll be back blowing smoke up some english teams * before the weeks out! * 'em... Beidh ar la linn

I didn't hear the post-match analysis but before the match Dunphy said he just hopes we acquit ourselves well and don't get embarrassed. Also, at half time Giles said before the match he expected it to be 3-0 at half time to Barcelona.

i watched Sky last night:52: mainly because it started early and I forgot too turn off, gutted now ha. Its a great advertisement for Celtic too have pundits gushing over us and too be seen in Ireland as a main game and not United or * Chelsea, hopefully it will get a few young Irish lads interested in the hoops seeing the passion and atmosphere in Parkhead.
