Rodgers in Europe

This might be considered a knee * reaction but it's getting beyond a joke now. We put up more of a fight under Ronny * Deila against Inter * Milan than we have against this mob. Rodgers is awful in Europe, he sets us up all wrong, can't seem to motivate the players properly, makes ridiculous substitutions etc. Have never seen a Celtic team with this lack of desire in my life.

 

If it was anyone else theyd be taking some stick, just seems its taboo to criticise rodgers here. It was a good idea right enough to sign a cup tied centre back and a keeper on loan from hibs who apparently isnt better than de vries

That’s perspective.

 

He’s annoying me in Europe. We’ve been pumped too often. I understand that some of those humpings have been against the elite clubs but losing 7-0, 7-1, 5-0...that’s just unacceptable.

 

Not just in Europe, Rodgers, the board and the teams are shocking this season as a whole.

 

I got absolutely battered on here for suggesting it at the end of january, but I still believe our spending policy is based on dominating scotland and trying to sneak into the groups of the Champions league as cheaply as possible. Anything else is a bonus.

Tonight we lost 3 goals due to having a poor centre hald a poor right back and a poor keeper. We knew that a month ago and actively chose not to strengthen. We simply cannot defend at this level but then we already knew that. Tonight feels extra disappointing given we won the first leg but actually the way we lost the game shouldnt surprise.

 

Just not good enough once again....embarrassing

 

Beating average Kazakh and Israeli teams doesn’t cover up for the * poor performances.

 

Hate this pish about the fact we were bottom of the grouo last year but made EL this year, we happened to come up against a managerless anderlecht in turmoil when we did only to then lose to them at home, i really do think fine margins were the reason deila wasnt considered successful and its fortunate fine margins thats making rodgers look good

 

He’s putting out a team with average of what, 23 ? It’s gotta be right young anyway. Team looks scared and he isn’t able to motivate them it seems.

 

There have been poor performances this season, but we to compare him with Ronny is farcical.

 

As I've said numerous times this season, if it was Ronnie Deila sitting in that dugout this season he would be getting absolute pelters.

We've been *' honking in 90% of our games this season.

 

Only a matter of time before someone starts the “you weren’t there during the 90’s” retort.

We are miles away from being a “decent Europa league” side. 6 points out of 12 CL group games isn’t exactly inspiring, Ronny Deila would be strung up.

Mentality, strategy and substitutes are baffling at times.

 

I get that mate but let’s be honest, we’re absolutely fuming when we don’t get through to the CL because we get drawn against teams that we really should be beating. Astana, Rosenborg, Be’er Sheva etc. They’re no mugs but they aren’t great either.

Yes Rodgers did well to get us through them, last season in particular. But it’s hardly a miracle.

 

Can't lump those games in with this one today. I think the players are almost 100% to blame today. Poor as * defending on every goal. The game plan we may have seen went out the window after the first goal. No real issues with who he started as well. We need better defenders, simple as that. Unfortunately not sure if the board will ever give him the backing he really wants.

 

Needs to swallow his pride and * park the bus.

 

When he gets us playing well in europe we're fantastic and can take on the best like we did against City and Bayern at home but when we're bad we are truly horrendous and look like conceding every time we're attacked there seems to be no in between with him.

 

That’s where we are at, Astana spent more cash than us..

We are lacking in mentality, no doubt., and haven’t addressed the lack of quality needed at GK, RB & CB.

However CL is our goal in Europe and he’s delivered that, which is an improvement. Fact..

 

He’ll never do that...
