    Why the "probably"?

Can't believe I defended him above.

Probably because by this point in a young players career they've already gone if they have other options.

This is surely a big chance for the lad. Going to be in every squad for the rest of the season. What is he though CF or winger or both? I kind him coming on RW last season and playing quite well in the short time he was on.

If he doesn’t sign a new contract I would excpect him not to be in the matchday squad once Oh is back

I think he can provide cover at AM as well.

We have far too many wingers: Maeda, Abada, Palma, Kuhn, Yang, Forrest(?). Vata is likely the 5th/6th choice winger. It may be easier for him to earn playing time at AM, especially now that we sold Turnbull. Would love to watch a midfield trio of

    ...............McGregor...............
    .....O'Riley.................Vata.......

Ideally he would of signed a new deal and then been loaned out to championship club.

Currently have 9 forward in the squad doubt he'll make the bench once the asian Cup is over

Really, he should either have been away with at least a nominal fee, or signed a new contract.

Injury to Johnston delayed him getting on but he was better than Abada in the short time he had.

Probably true, but not saying much. Abada was mince, don't think Vata done a whole lot.

Celtic are also in talks with young striker Rocco Vata over a new deal. The Republic of Ireland under-21 cap is out of contract in the summer and has been offered a new four year contract, but those talks are still ongoing.

I don't blame him for not signing a new contract, he's still here which I think proves he wants to be here as he had the offers in Italy.

He's had a few minutes against Aberdeen and nothing else. If we actually rate him and want him to sign, give him some decent opportunities to prove himself, otherwise just let him leave.

Watford have a firm interest in signing Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Rocco Vata from Celtic this summer.

The 18-year-old forward, who is the son of former Celtic defender and Albania international Rudi Vata, scored his first senior goal in January having made his debut in December 2022.

He has a contract offer from Celtic that would run until 2027 but he has found first-team opportunities limited under Brendan Rodgers this season.

Vata is out of contract in the summer and Celtic would be due compensation as he has been at the club since the age of seven.

As a category 2 club in England, the compensation owed by Watford would be around €280,000 (£239,000).

Como, Bologna and Sampdoria all signalled an interest in Vata during the January transfer window.

The player is keen to play first team football having spent the last two seasons with Celtic B in the Lowland League

Just a hat-trick the night....def needs game time. Fear the moment has passed this season as we're in a fight and getting players back.
