No problem guys, least I could do - although I'm not too sure my boss will be too happy with the severe lack of work this afternoon :56:

They didn't say mate, just that the Celtic fans out numbered their rangers counterparts by 2 to 1

dutch of class from ferry seals championship

THERE were shades of Euro 88 in the reserve’s title-clinching triumph at Ibrox, with Simon Ferry’s strike a worthy championship winner.

Struck on the volley and rifled past Allan McGregor, it was a wonderful goal and one that the midfielder later jokingly compared to Marco van Basten’s wonder strike against the Soviet Union in Germany in 1988.

The little Dundonian may have had a smile on his face when he made reference to this at the final whistle, but it was a fantastic strike from the midfielder, one that follows two-and-a-half years of injury * on the sidelines.

“I made my run into the box and I knew the capabilities of Ryan Conroy’s left peg,” Ferry told Celticfc.net. “So I made that run to the back post and the ball just hung in the air for me and I’ve just van Basten-ed it.

“It was great to get the goal and it’s been a tough two-and-a-half years for me with the injuries, but I’ve played the past four games now and there’s been no reaction in my ankle.

“The goal was such a bonus,” he added. “I didn’t think that I was going to play again this season, so to come back and do this has been brilliant.”

Ferry, who was just a few months old when the great Dutchman scored his unforgettable volley, has never been a prolific goalscorer at any level.

However, the 21-year-old has chipped in with a number of memorable strikes, including a title-winning goal against Motherwell for Willie McStay’s Under-19 team three years ago.

“I don’t score all year, but I get them on the last day and they are worth waiting for,” said Ferry with another broad smile.

“Honestly, I don’t get many, I am usually horrendous at shooting practice in training! So to get one like this is fantastic.

“I’ve only been in for the last four games since getting fit again,” he added, “so it’s really credit to the lads and Willie McStay and Danny McGrain for all the hard work they have put in throughout the year.

“Eight-in-a-row is a great achievement and to seal it at Ibrox was another wee bonus.”
