**REALISTIC Transfer Tagets**

Sorry if there's already a thread out there for this i personally haven't seen one but;

who would you like to see coming to paradise next season being realistic with who we could attract,who we could afford etc

i'd like to see maybe;

ROBBIE KEANE(celtic fan,approachin late 20's)
BEN FOSTER(man utd keeper,great prospect)
DIEGO FORLAN(might be out of our league dunno)
WES BROWN
WAYNE BRIDGE(left back needed urgently!)
RICHARD DUNNE

 

clarence seedorf, he is forever complimenting us and hes 31 so we could still get a few years out him.

 

The problem we have with signing guys like these are the wages they currently command at their clubs - apparently Wes Broon is holding out for £50k from Man United - * - he's only getting a game 'cos Nevilles injured!!

I believe that in the hands of a more adept manager our current squad would be a match for most teams, with only a few additions to worry about.

Great goalscorer but would he cross the divide smoothly? not so sure the majority of celts fans would want to see him here,i'm on the fence for that 1

 

im havin a laugh, good goalscorer wouldnt mind him in my team tho but never happen. just thought there was as much chance of that as seedorf, wes brown - wages only thing stoppin us, robbie keane - celtic fan but why leave the premiership tbh

 

fletcher of hibs i rate highly, now i know what ur thinking (riordan over again) but i rate him a lot higher than him or brown

 

if we could get Robbie Keane....all our problems would be solved...haven't had a consistent prolific goalscorer since henke...

 

none of the above mentioned ,why couldnt afford them

 

somebody mentioned wes brown ,good player he has demanded a pay rise or hes off ,something around 60,000 grand a week ,and basically he is reserve at man utd

 

what about john o'shea isn't in the first team plans at man utd and he gives it his all. Keane or bellamy for me like that would be superb. Someone also as you say like seedorf as he can command the midfield and offer loads of experience to boys like brown maybe it would do him the world of good playing alongside someone of his stature.

And of course davie moyes if we can persuade him.

 

We must buy goalkeeper, because Boruc can leave ... Igor Akinfeev from CSKA Moscow is not bad choice

 

Like most have said on here Robbie Keane joining the hoops would be a 'DREAM'! no * he would be our saviour,someone said why leave the premiership,i agree he's also spurs captain but he's acheived so much in the game,played at the very top,made great money,what more can the prem offer him?

Also the debate about Wes Brown's wages is valid but 2 points
1-whats our wage cap?max salary? i imagine 25k ish??

2-is it not time for us to start trying to compete to get the best players by offering big wages? its not like were skint(as the directors would like u to think!)

 

All of these playersare out our depth!!!
Kris Boyd will not and better not happen...
Fletcher do we really need another Hibs player?
Weneed to start looking around the German & French leagues and see what you can get from places like Croatia Bulgaria Serbia even Turkey & Romania you could get good players from these leagues... Then add a little experiance with guys like Sammi Hyypia & Robbie Savage maybe The problem with the EPL is the players cost to much and the average EPL player is on 50 to 60 grand a week!!!

Luca Modric... Exellent player would cos a few million tho but he is a top class player.....

 

the thing with celtic is

we are not a club which goes for star players really,we are a club that gets good talent spotters and a manager that can recognise talent when he sees it

that way we have unearthed stars

larsson,mjallby,boruc,cadete,hooijdonk,di canio,etc

the best we can hope for are some changes at the top thus leading to unearthing more talent that are plying thier trade and currently not been recognised

strachan has always gone for the big name guys like graveson,donati,JVH etc and the big names are lets just say,not cutting it

 

I hate threads like this where people rhyme off the few players they know. Remember there is a world outside the EPL and SPL. Dont care who the NEW manager signs, as long as the player knows that when he pulls on the hoops its more than just another football team.

 

How about Niang or something from marsielle? Good pace and knows where the net is. Punt JVoHto * and skippy really isn't anything more than a back-up striker imo (despite his 26 goals).

Niang + Samaras upfront wouldn't be bad

 

Forget transfer targets, we have to find a manager first. What decent player will want to play for us with WGS in charge?!
