Celtic may not want to comment, but the GB have released their official statement about it:

In the recent Scottish Cup game against Queens Park on 7/2/09 The Green Brigade and many other Celtic fans in the surrounding area were the victims of disgraceful treatment by Police and Celtic stewards.

This treatment began prior to the start of the match where two Green Brigade members were stopped and questioned by Police over having Basque flags. Both members had their details taken for this 'crime', and Celtic Security stated that the flags were not allowed entry. No reason could be given as to why.

Unlike anywhere else in the ground section 111, where the Green Brigade congregate for games, was extremely heavily stewarded and policed. Many other Celtic fans had moved round to this area of the ground, due to the fact it was mostly empty there was a huge amount of space and empty seats for fans to get together in one area and create some atmosphere. For the record, the group does not condone people moving to seats that aren't theirs, however it does not merit the sort of overreaction, hassle and intimidation the stewards were guilty of. The heavy-handed attitude of the stewards continued throughout the match, despite no songs that could be seen as 'controversial' (in their eyes) being sung. Indeed, it seemed as though their sole purpose was to hassle people enjoying themselves.

A drum was also brought into the stadium and up to section 111. It was allowed entry to the stadium, and was used throughout the game to help generate some atmosphere with no hassle from stewards or Police. This was until around the 70th minute where stewards attempted to confiscate the drum on the grounds of it being a Health and Safety issue. Why did it suddenly become a problem towards the end of the game, when it had been used for well over an hour?

When the person playing the drum refused to hand it over, he was threatened with arrest and told to leave the ground. At this stage the group decided that enough was enough, and left the game with the member who was being removed. Around 150-200 Celtic fans in the area also sick of the treatment from the stewards left too.

Once outside these fans stood together in protest, shortly after this Police horses were used to disperse the crowd, this essentially amounted to charging at fans, causing one young supporter to be pushed against a fence and hurt in the process. Although he was not seriously injured it is a miracle that no one was. The overreaction by the Police continued when a helicopter watched this unfold overhead and actually followed a small group of fans as they dispersed.

Strathclyde Police and particularly Celtic security should be made to answer questions on why they decided to behave the way they did.

basically I think during the match on saturday banners were removed by stewards and people were told about singing songs and beating of a drum etc etc Fans were on last night complaining but Celtic have refused to comment about when rang by the show

what happened to freedom of speech!!! Does sound a wee bit over the top for a couple of flags and a drum unless they are getting some practice for the filth on Sunday

Stadium Regulations

Look at No11. on the list...

"the promotion or endorsement of any political organisation are not permitted within the Stadium or on the Club's property."

And read the mission statement which has been there for all to see for many years now...

im not high up on the GB or anyone linked to them, im just a plain ol tic man! so all the negative stuff they bring to the support really gets me!

for wrong or right they are attracting a lot of * to celtic!! imo
