...........Is definitely the over-riding emotion at this moment in time.

Don't get me wrong, gutted isn't the word for it, the timing of that goal was a real heart breaker.

But no one gave us a chance tonight, and yet we've given one of the best club sides there has ever been one * of a game, and everyone to a man int he current Celtic set up should be very proud of themselves, as well as getting every bit of credit going.

Former scapegoats such as Samaras & Wilson playing their vital part, bargains like Vic & Ambrose performing to a great level, players like Ledley taking the club to their heart, & young boys like Forrest etc etc coming through the ranks to play in the biggest stage of them all. That's without even mentioning our excellent full backs, our talismanic striker, and a world class performance from our 'keeper.

All the while whilst Armageddon was predicted, the tone surrounding Scottish football was of doom and gloom, and the (former) second biggest club in the land being caught out as tainting our game by means of their institutionalised cheating.

Remarkable is the correct word for our achievements, and pride is the correct word for the way the support should be feeling at this current juncture for our great club.

    * bless the leather belts! The future is Green, Gold & White! :celt_2:

To think that the team Lennon has developed cost less than ONE of Barca's strikers (Villa £30m), has only TWO players with Champions League group experience and a very young squad (average age of about 24 I think) and is playing extremely well in CL and league.

I'm proud of the manager and the players.

Gutted absolutely 100%, but easier to take when you see how far we have come.

I can't believe how good I feel after losing a big European game to a goal in the 4th minute of injury time.

I think it's that, for months now, I've been feeling that this team is really starting to fulfil the promise - making the leap from huge potential to really good football side. Moscow confirmed that, but part of me was thinking, we could really be shown up by Barca on tuesday - they'll show us how far we really are from quality.

And they didn't show us up - they just didn't. The best team on the planet played well, but they struggled to beat Celtic in the Nou Camp.

No room for complacency, but I feel October 2012 will go down as the month this team finally arrived. :celt_2: :celt_2: :celt_2:

Embarrassments like St. Mirren, Inverness & our early European disasters seem like a world away from our current reality, and that is to the absolute credit of everyone involved with the football club, tremendous strides have been taken and it's fantastic to be involved during this particular part of our great unbroken history.

Gutted, naturally, but I agree with the whole pride sentiment of the OP.
Organisation, grit and some great wee passing moves that few have mentioned. We kept the ball off them at times and we robbed Messi of the baw at least 8 times (which I think should count as a goal...morally).

Expected a thumping and tbh, if we'd got that penalty for the involuntary handball at Wanyama's (I think ) goal attempt and stole a victory, them naebody would have grudged us it.

We played far better than most teams who've come to the Camp Nou in the past 10 years - and without being cynical and negative.

Think i've covered most points there. Great and monumental performance for a hee-haw * of a result. Still. They're the planet's best, so well done.

Cannae wait tae draw Dumbarton in the cup.

This sums up how I feel right now. Im gutted, but its better to be gutted about coming so close to drawing with arguably the best ever team than to be gutted after games like those you mentioned. We have come a long way to get where we are now, and I can't see things going anywhere but upwards.

Exactly mate as i said in another thread i don't believe in all this glorious failure rubbish and celebrating a defeat i expect us to win every game we play but tonight is different although I'm not celebrating we went to the best football team in the world ever' own backyard and matched them for 94 minutes not so long ago we were being hammered by Braga and Utrecht away from home now we go to the nou camp and we're gutted to come away with nothing and the our worst player from last season kept the worlds best in his back pocket.

    Proud gutted but proud :shamrock:

    Hail Hail mate :50:

I absolutely knew that we would be seeing a pass masterclass from Barca tonight, so that really doesn't worry me about the 80% percentage they had.

That is a team that can make brilliant teams like Man Utd etc. look like chumps - we managed to impress amongst the big boys, and make people stand up and take notice of us.

When Lennon joined and said he wanted to bring back the "thunder", I originally thought he was talking about getting the crowds roaring and singing at Parkhead again......but now I know he really meant the "thunder" would be the sound of Europe talking and making noises about Celtic on the big stage once again.....

    * love Lennon, love the team......love the support....love the tradition......LOVE CELTIC.

I'm beginning to love this team almost as much as the seville team... which i didn't think would happen in my life time.

Very proud of every single player, the defence were outstanding and did a far better job tactically on Barcelona than most of the so called "top teams"

Ambrose really is a great discovery!

The distance we have come in such a short period of time is incomprehensible.

Our organisation and our desire were outstanding and we can do nothing but hold our heads high. We will never play a better football team than we have tonight.

This is up there with the proudest I've been as a Celtic fan. Heartbreaking.

Lennon has transformed this team. I was a doubter for a while but give the man credit, he's done a fantastic job.

We'll gub them at Celtic Park.

The most pleasing aspect of tonight - and what will stand us in good stead - is the organisation.

Niel Lennon must take a bow here. That group of players knew their job tonight and carried it out to the letter. When a team does that and it works then the bond between manager and player becomes stronger because players then trust the manager knows what they are talking about.

We could very well be on the cusp of something very very special.

What an amazing time to be a Tim.

About a year ago we were 3-0 down at half time to Kilmarnock. Now we're gutted at losing 2-1 to arguably the greatest team ever. We kept one of the all time greats quiet. This feels just like Seville. I'm so, so gutted at what's happened tonight, but it's nights like this which make me so, so proud to be a part of this football club. Though not too proud to admit that a few tears have been shed, through pride and hurt.

Was just thinking earlier during the game what makes this even more incredible, we must have one of the youngest squads in the CL, maybe even the youngest?

Even though we got beat, it is a fantastic acheivement
