I think he's earned it, 10 years and counting, treble undefeated captain.

Easily, I remember some reporter asking him about moving to epl, and brown replied something like, "I'm Celtics captain why would I move anywhere " and meant it. And not just his medals, the broony against diouf, his pause on the advertising boards at poundland & his nomination of k.lafferty as celtic player of the year.

    Probably is now.

Out of his 10 seasons here though I don't think he's had more than 3 exceptional seasons. POTY season, this season and one under Lennon.

Hard to argue that he isn't, but in my opinion he's probably had as many poor/average seasons as he's had exceptional ones. Mixed bag.

Been through some * times in that period with his sister, dogged by injuries etc, granted.

One of those players who may be rated and looked highly upon now, but will be greater appreciated when he's gone.

Your spot on with a lot you've said there. All things considered though he is sure fire to go down a legend. He has been captain at just the right time to make sure of it. Would he be considered a legend if he played in a poorer side in a harder era i.e McStay, now that's up for debate.

On the contrary I think he's had 3 poor to middling seasons and the rest he's been exceptional. 2 seasons when we tried to play him through Injury - Mowbray's and Deila's last season and his first season, where he started very well and got bogged down in personal problems with his sister dying.

The rest he's been outstanding for me.

    Completely agree with this.

I think this season has been by far his best season and it's cemented him as a Celtic legend. The captain of a treble winning, invincible team. Incredible.

Captain of the only team in the world to ever win their domestic treble and remain unbeaten domestically at the same time in that season.
    Yes, he's a legend.
Only hope he is there and fit enough to play when we reach 10IAR.

    Aye..

No Celtic player has been written off more and he has shown amazing strength in proving people wrong, time and time again.
