my da tells me stories of talking with orangemen and loyalists and the like (when he was in canada of course), he always said he didn't understand them as they always contradicted themselves, one stood out for me

he hates the english, he hates the royal family, yet him and every member of his family wear a sash, why? no idea, apparently he got really drunk one time before going to a union meeting and shouted "i had to join the lodge, i needed a job," (@ my da),

it's weird that an orangeman would renounce his "faith" so openly

just me trying to understand the troubles without being completely biased towards republicans and more of me trying to understand... "them"

    thoughts?

    TBH i don't understand 'them.'
For some reason they feel the need to march through nationalist areas when they could just march through they're own, and be hassle free.

I suppose if it's not annoying anybody, why march?:39:

    To the OP.

You will find the majority of those who join the Orange Order,do for one reason.....to antagonise a certain sector of the population.

Fellas, you do know that painting an entire fairly large group with the same brush is fairly sectarian which, as we all know, is a fancy word for racist

its a group whose entire existence breeds hatred and exclusion. you wouldnt join an organisation like that if you had even half a brain.

I would say the same about the KKK. Am i being 'racist' towards them in your book?

It woulb be racist if i said every white is a member of the KKK.

Your point would stand if we said every * was an orange hun *, but i dont recall anyone saying that?

Keep your PC'ness over your side of the water.

This large group,to a man, insist on marching through nationalist areas,so therefor the organisation can be tarred with the same brush.

Can someone tell me is there a difference between an orangeman/loyalist and someone who's in a Masonic lodge??
I'm not being daft, just haven't a clue if they're one of the same kind.?

Freemasonry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The fraternity is widely involved in charity and community service activities. In contemporary times, money is collected only from the membership, and is to be devoted to charitable purposes. Freemasonry worldwide disburses substantial charitable amounts to non-Masonic charities, locally, nationally and internationally.[47][48] In earlier centuries, however, charitable funds were collected more on the basis of a Provident or Friendly Society, and there were elaborate regulations to determine a petitioner's eligibility for consideration for charity, according to strictly Masonic criteria.
Some examples of Masonic charities include:
In addition to these, there are thousands of philanthropic organisations around the world created by Freemasons. The Masonic Service Association,[53] the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory,[54] and the Shriners Hospitals for Children[55] are especially notable charitable endeavours that Masons have founded and continue to support both intellectually and monetarily

thats kinda what im on about, ive never blamed the loyalist community in northern ireland because they were indoctrinated in this * from a young age

you cannot blame the republicans because after the border campaign, there was little or no ira activity in the north, it was in 1969 when the ira took its first offensive,

can you blame the british government? yah, you can, but that isnt really saying anything, its just blaming the prime benefactor of a war in the six counties

it comes down to serious social issues that have been a problem for centuries, that stem from the simple, but effective, english tactic of divide & conquer, that sees wars around the world and sees sectarianism and violence everywhere in their "kingdom"
